This dryer vent cover looks so much better than the standard plastic vent cover. The plastic ones always failed on my south facing installation due to sun damage, which would cause the flaps to break off or crumble in a few years.The screen filter inside this vent cover should only be used if you have ongoing rodent entry issues but you are going to have to clean out the lint very frequently from the inside the house side, meaning disconnecting the dryer exhaust, which is a huge hassle.I cut out the screen filter after seeing the lint buildup after only a few drying cycles, and the airflow is noticeably better. I used a sharp box cutter, and it came out fairly quickly. I used small wire cutters to cut any strands of screen left inside. I probably won't have to worry about replacing this for years.

Super easy install, metal seems much better than what was there before. I did use my own screws to go deep into the house, and sealed up the sides (you can't see behind it) with that HVAC tape. Should be great for animals not getting in, and sealing up the laundry room.

Product fits perfectly, however the wind causes the louvers to open and shut. This causes banging noise. It would be great it the sides on unit were raised a few inches to avoid this issue.

Item arrived on time and was easy to replace a previous dryer vent that had started to crumble after over 20 years at our new home. Simply took out old and added in the same size cover and was back in business in a few minutes.I did remove the mesh screen that was provided as it seemed to possibly not let dryer lint escape and could be a future fire hazard. I will take my chances with small animals trying to get in vs a fire starting due to built-up lint clogging the vent cover.

Item was used to replace a broken louvre that was the same size. Was not able to find a replacement at the big box stores but Amazon to the rescue

As many have said this will rattle when the out put is not strong enough to keep all the flaps fully open. At full 900 CFM they stay open, at the lowest setting they tinkle all the time. We have a decent amount of wind and that will also cause them to flip open and make noise. In fact I just got up for the bathroom and heard some noise and had to go to investigate.... It turned out to be this. I regret my purchase and wish I had gone with plastic. If it lasts a long time it'll justify the cost I guess.
