I am older and have done pretty much everything myself, but age limits things. I didn’t even know these existed , but do. I googled “ is there a furniture jack like car jack†there is!. I am so happy!, I don’t need to bother anyone to help me lift end of sofa to put area rug under it. This thing works great, easy to use, lightweight but made very well. It is a great buy and def good value.

This product was a great help to lift a heavy dresser to reattach some legs that a contractor broke when moving it. Also very handy to lift a built in oven to level. Be careful not to lift more that they are rated for, I bent one lift piece and it could have been that I was lifting to much weight .

Over the past few years, I have been doing solo remodeling projects around my house. From time to time, I have tasks where a second hand would be extremely helpful, like removing/installing a closet door or installing drywall. To avoid bothering my neighbors every time, I've relied on using scrap wood to raise whatever I am removing or installing to the proper level. Recently, I came across these jacks. As a Vine reviewer, I received a set of jacks in exchange for an unbiased review.I tried out the jacks on some hollow core interior doors and a box of 8 12x24" ceramic tiles. As a load test, I also tried lifting one side of a quarter-circular concrete fireplace pad that I poured, but have not yet installed. The jacks effortlessly lifted the 60 lb box of ceramic tiles, and kept the door raised for easy removal. It was harder to ratchet, but I was also able to raise one side of the concrete pad. The total weight of the concrete pad is 200+ lbs.The low profile stands have a wide, and easily tunable range versus my hack method. They were definitely a time-saver in contrast to my scrap wood method. Additional side-to-side stabilizing will still be necessary for taller items. If you anticipate having to lift loads closer to the max load limit, I would opt for a more heavy duty jack to gain more leverage.PROS• The low profile base supports a wide range of level options and fits in tight spaces.• Adjustable in small increments, ~1/16" or less.• The lifts include an imperial ruler, which is helpful for leveling.• Quick release lever• Effortlessly lifted 60 lbs, and 100+ lbs with a little more effort.CONS• The handles are heavier plastic, which may not be sufficient for frequent or heavy duty use.• May need additional supports to help stabilize taller items, like doors.• Some competitor brands also include a metric ruler.

I was as dubious as can be about a 12 inch tall jack being able to do jack and especially to the 200 pound capacity that is advertised and yet weighs only a couple of pounds a piece. I stand corrected--these jacks are awesome! I must admit I started changing my mind when I first hefted them out of the shipping box as they are very sturdy, steel constructed, and just felt substantial. The ruler on the bar of the jack is nice but in my application, not really needed, or at least not yet. The first opportunity I had to test these out was to free a bunched-up desk chair mat stuck under my office office desk and it's companion cabinet stack. The desk and cabinets are huge and made of laminated practical board. I've done the lifting by hand before and it took my wife, son, and I all to make the "freeing of the chair mat" happen. I was able to get the jacks under the furniture legs no problem as the lift is about a 1/16th of an inch thick. I then raised the jack about 3 inches with moderate pressure on the jack handles and the lift rose evenly and smoothly--nice! Once the furniture was raised and the mat reinserted under the legs, lowering was a simple matter of hitting the release on each jack. Done. Since then, I've used these jacks on a variety of small projects and am amazed at all the things I'm finding or imagining I can use this extra pair of hands for. These jacks are a great value at $25 as competitive items are two to three times as much. I only wish I had found these years ago. I'm sure my back and smashed fingers would really have appreciated that.
