This guy solved some EDC predicaments I had, too much stuff and not enough pockets. I carry a spare mag, fixed blade knife (with ulticlip) and some Kevlar string in mine. I occasionally with carry a mini ifak as well (compresses gauze, duct tape, nustat all wrapped tight with 3’ coban). It doesn’t stretch out between various mag sizes, sure it would be nice to have a zippered pouch but I like how it is now and Velcro can easily be added if you wanted to the pouch. I would buy this time and again after trying other various styles of ankle carry.

I’ve used this Galco ankle strap for over four years. I use this strap almost every day as a LEO. I’ve only purchased two over the past seven years of carrying my cuffs and a knife on my ankle. Sometimes I’ll swap out the knife for an extra mag. Fits double stack or single stack Glock mags easily. Five stars.

Works well and stays put on ankle. I was worried that it would slide down or twist on my ankle but it's done well so far. Magazine pocket holds a full size Glock 15-rd magazine with no problem, the pocket is snug enough so it doesn't flop around, and the top strap was long enough to cover the magazine even with an overgrip on it and still had plenty of grab area for the Velcro. Haven't done any real running or training with it yet, but so far it's been snug and secure. One complaint and word of caution: I wore this every day for the first 2-3 weeks to really test it out. One day I switched to a different rig and found that the adhesive that glues the bottom edge of the magazine pocket to the base layer had seeped onto my magazine. There was a thick bead of adhesive from the front of the magazine, along the top round in the magazine, and onto the back edge of the magazine. This was of course alarming because it would have been really bad day if I had chambered that sticky round, particularly if the chamber was already hot (as might be expected). I'm glad I caught it by inspection instead of under fire, but if you use this gear be very careful about the glue in the bottom of the pockets getting all over your mags. I'm having a tailor sew a liner into mine so this doesn't happen again. Hopefully Galco will address this problem on the manufacturing / design side. Also would be great if this had a loop for a calf strap like Galco's ankle holsters do. The carrying weight is limited because this is missing right now.

I purchased one of these over 10 years ago and have carried it daily. The material quality of the newer one is not as good.

You don't need to be a gun-toter to get some use out of this. It is a handy and comfortable place to carry emergency cash (in case you are mugged) and the credit cards you don't want to lose. If you are not carrying an extra magazine of ammo you can use the pouch for an ink pen.You could also carry your car's keyless remote in the ammo slot. Perfect fit for mine.

When traveling, I depend on cash and several credit cards. In the past I would secure the excess in my car's glove compartment, but always had a concern about being REALLY stranded if the car was stolen. Saw this product from Galco while looking at their holsters. Bought it on the spot "knowing" that it would be a necessary discomfort I would just have to live with. WRONG ! After the first couple of hours on the first day, and after the first five minutes each following day, I forget it is even there. Plenty of room for up to 3/4s inch of cards and/or cash. A separate section can contain a clip for a semi-, a small roll of cash, or just a pen as I use it for. Don't give this purchase a second thought; if you need it, buy it!

Put one of my favorite EDC S&W M&P folders, a Streamlight AAA flashlight, and some $$ in it. Put it on.I forget I'm wearing it.And no. I'm not Galco employee or company schill.Reason for 4 stars on value? Would have liked a small hook and loop closure on the larger of the two pockets.

This is my second purchase; a back-up to my first Ankle Safe that I've used as my EDC for a flashlight (4"L x 2"D; 1 AA battery) and one pair of medical gloves that I keep in a ziplock bag. 1-2 times a week where I need to employ the Galco Ankle Glove on the other leg (e.g. business attire), I will move the gloves to a suit pocket and use the Ankle Safe for a spare double-stack magazine. In my experience, carrying both gloves and magazine in the same pocket of the Ankle Safe causes creep during normal walking and they will fall out.It holds up well, but the lifespan for everyday use is approximately 3 years. The neoprene where the stitches are made are the stress points; it begins to stretch out holes at those points, and become larger over time. I've already done my own stitch-work overlapping those areas in an attempt to extend the life of the item, but now holes around the new stitches have produced their own holes that are growing larger.I plan to keep using the original item until failure. I use my newly purchased Ankle Safe for formal events (e.g. black tie), and will have to buy a third one when the original Safe fails.Update (approx. 3 mos. after original review above):Shortly after writing the above review, my original product finally gave out. This "new generation" of Ankle Safe (I say that because the Galco branding sewn in a different location than the original) is not built out of the same previous quality materials. Only after 3 mos. of the same type of usage, the neoprene has begun to tear at the seams. Downgraded rating from 4 stars to 2 because this new generation will not hold up.

Was skeptical as to how good this would be but have to say was excellent. Well made and functions really well. Bought for husband attending overseas football match and used for passports and credit cards.
