There are 4 pre-installed fixing screws on the top of the metal post, you just need to align the screws with the mounting holes on the mailbox and tighten the nuts, very easy to install!
Pre-drilled Holes at Bottom
There are pre-drilled holes at the bottom of the post. You can mount the post on a surface mounting base or on a wood extension tube.

According to USPS delivery guidelines, the mailbox's point of entry should be positioned 6 to 8 inches from the street surface or curb and 41 to 45 inches above the road surface to the incoming mail slot.
Ganiude post is 43 inches long.We don't suggest surface mount,it will exceeds delivery height.
Deeper Installation with Wood
If you reside in a particularly cold climate or plan to mount multiple mailboxes using a spreader bar, we suggest inserting a treated 4x4 piece of wood for added stability. In extremely cold regions, we recommend digging to a depth of at least 2 feet for better support.
