I was able to install that all by myself. It did take a while, but it was manageable. Definitely recommend as it really blocks out air at the bottom.

When I first saw this thing I thought, well how the heck is that gonna work? But then I went out to my single car garage to measure the length and saw the track that it's on...ah ha! This seemed easy enough. Considering that mine has probably never been replaced, and my home was built in the 80's, and my garage leaks every time it rains, it was time. Ordered, received, and out I went to remove the old one. The hardest part of the replacement was removing my old one (see pic), it was torn on one side making it hard to slide out. I did put my garage door 1/2 way up, so I could reach it without a step ladder (highly recommend you do the same). I put gloves on, as it was pretty dirty, and just started to pull it out of one side. About 10 minutes later, it was out. Next I laid out the new one next to the old one to cut it to length with a knife. Then, I rolled it up like a taco and started to slide it in on one side to the other. I had my husband pull it as it got a little tough the further it went in. Once it was in, I closed the garage to see the final product, and it was perfect. No leaks, looks great, easy install. Likely the best out there, but still some installation issues. Bought to mate with uneven garage threshold. Discovered that slipping it on, into the tracks is not a one person job. For some reason I've not figured, even with the door in the best position for working, but still in the door track, it's very unlikely that one of the sides won't just slip out while trying to slide it in. So we just put it in the full distance as best we could and went along pushing the side that wasn't happy into it's track. It's difficult to do by hand, but if you do it with a screwdriver you can damage the garage door seal. The best tool would be maybe an inch long and rather as dull as manageable. Great product, but challenging installation.I had thoroughly cleaned the whole bottom of the garage door, and prepped with WD-40.

Very good quality rubber seal that snapped into the existing slots on my door. An awesome replacement for my old tired seal. Keeps things nice and tight and dry.

My garage door seal was still good, but really well worn. I replaced it because I had a couple of gaps under the door where the concrete had started to sag a little. This seal is taller than the one it replaced do to the added ring/tube. I really like this. It squishes out more than the original one and it fills in the gaps of light I was seeing with the old seal. I installed this in the winter, which I think made it easier because the rubber material was stiffer. I also used spay silicone lubricant, which I think helped a lot. Overall this is an easy upgrade that took only a little over 30 min. Having an additional helper would have been nice.

I wanted to install the garage door seal right away instead of waiting until the weekend when I would have had a second person help. It took me roughly an hour to remove the old seal and install the new one on a south-facing garage door with full sun on it. The garage door got quite hot during that time and the rubber got softer which created slight issues. For me, it worked best to have the seal at a slight upward angle (5-10 degrees) and try to keep the seal that needed to be pushed in as straight as possible at an elevated position. Since the seal got warm, it was also easier to push the material into the rails versus pulling it through. Otherwise, it tended to not get slid in straight and slowly would come out of the rail on one side. Beyond the first half, I had to so often slightly pull the seal towards the empty side, and it became a push-pull action. The result looks great and gives a tight seal. I especially like that the seal is slightly longer than the garage door since it gives you the option to either cut it exactly to the door size or have it slightly wider.

I ordered this for the center door of our garage but unless I can find a way to rig it into place, it won't work for me. This is NOT universal; you need to make sure that the bottom of your door has the correct grooves it won't work. The bottom of my door has a smooth surface with an indented center however the rubber seal is riveted into the door frame; there are no slides like you need for this one. The construction of this rubber bottom is actually quite well made and should hold up for a long time as long as it fits your door. I would suggest you look closely at the photos and then at your door and make sure that they will line up. I should have looked closer myself however to me "universal" means it has what you need to adapt it to any door, and this should be corrected on their end, or the wording should be changed.

With winter approaching, in Minnesota, I checked the seal on the garage door and noticed it was staring to fail. I purchased a replacement seal from a local big box store and then checked YouTube to see how to install it. After a bit of research, I chose this seal from Amazon. This seal is far superior to the one from big box store. It is much thicker and does a better job of sealing a slightly uneven door. But installation was an absolute bear! The channel was cleaned and lubricated. With three people we struggled to slide it in for a mere 1/5 of the door. We ended up taking the seal retainer off the door and pushed the seal into the channel with a screwdriver. It took hours. Seal is now installed and turned out great. Much more coverage than the old seal.
