Sliding into the grooves is a task and best accomplished by two people. I was able to get the rubber to slide into the grooves using some soapy water and slowly sliding through the grooves a little at a time. this fit perfect with a little extra extending over the ends, this will allow a little shrinkage over time, great product.

In concept, this is simple to install. But, in order to install the new one, the old one must be removed the old. This may be easier to picture if you take a quick look at your current garage door seal. The pictures posted may help in visualizing this too.On our garage doors and, I assume, most that were professionally installed, the ends of the slots the edges of this replacement are intended to slip into were probably crimped when the originals were installed. The crimping is intended to keep this weather seal from moving once installed. The old seal can be easily removed simply by pulling hard all the way along the tube into which the edges fit. It really can't be slid out if the ends were crimped to keep it from sliding out. In order to get the new one in the way it was designed to go in, you would have to spread out the crimped ends. Otherwise you can't slide the edge beads on the new seal past them. I tried to spread the crimped ends but without success.Instead, starting at one end of the channel I pushed one edge bead into the channel - see picture with a thin screw driver or similar flat blade all along the garage door bottom. Then I did the second edge the same way creating the loop required in the weather seal all along the bottom of the garage door. This is fairly easy as the weather seal is flexible and will slide into the channel with a little effort after you develop a few minutes of experience. Of course, it would have been easier if the channel ends could have been easily uncrimped (or were not crimped at all) and the new weather seal slide into it along its entire length. It might help to soap the edge beads some as a lubricant to make them easier to push in the channel. It's in. It works fine. It didn't take long at all - not counting the fiddling I did trying to unsuccessfully uncrimp the channel ends. I had three garage doors to do all of which were well past the need to have this weather seal replaced after 16 years of use.

The product fit perfectly in the channels at the bottom of my garage door. It appears that additional material may need to be placed inside the installed seal to help it keep its shape as it ages.

Right fit and good price, but not easy to install if your door is older and the present seal old and cracking.

Doesn’t fit in the bottom groves on the garage door. They are the “correct” size as advertised but not actually that size.

I noticed other reviews mentioned removing the track from door - I did not see the need to do that. I have 16' and 8' foot garage doors. Both are 25+ year old Wayne Dalton Thermoguard. I replaced both bottom door seals about 10 years ago purchasing seal from same local retailer that originally installed both doors. I see no difference in what I purchased from official OEM installer and this product I purchased on Amazon. I did cut a small piece of old seal off and looked at it under magnifying glass to make sure the bead area was the same as pictured, it was, so I ordered. When taking off old seal, it is easier if you go ahead and just cut the old one down the middle as taking off one bead at a time, if sticking, is easier than both beads at same time. I sprayed WD-40 into both tracks before installing, using the small narrow "wand" on the can. I then just took my time working the seal in, a few inches at a time, and after inserting a few more inches I went to the other end and pulled / stretched it out, and then back to inserting a few inches, stretching again from other end, etc etc etc. I left about 1 inch past the end of the track and worked the door up and down a few times and then readjusted left / right overhang.

From Amazon I purchased a 9ft. WD lower seal and an 18ft. WD lower seal for my 2 garage doors at a great price. I have the plastic WD retainers on bottom of both doors. I cut the old seals down the middle with a pocket knife and pulled out the 2 pieces on both doors with pliers.I washed the retainer bottom then used silicone spray inside both tracks on bottom of the plastic retainer. I started and kept pushing the new seals into the left side of the retainer tracks, cupping them as shown in pic. at left. My wife Jean pulled them to the right as I pushed. They slid on with very little effort. The plastic WD retainers have an advantage over aluminum retainers because the rubber seals just slide right on by using silicone spray first. I folded both ends back inside the seals to capture them. A word of advice. Do not replace them in cold weather.A warm day makes them soft and pliable. Roger Benzinger

The delivery experience, why did I have to pickup my parcel at the local insurance agency. Purolator dropped it there, they should deliver it to my home, nowhere does it say that I have to pickup my parcel.

Glad I was able to find this product advertised in a utube video. Was a little difficult to mount but with a bit of perseverance got it done and fits very well.
