This is my second purchase of this item in the past few years. The design of the stopper is not very sturdy, so it always cracks in the same spot and has to be replaced. This is a knockoff of Insinkerator’s design, but they have to model it in the original so it will function, so it’s Insinkerator’s design flaw that causes the problem. Maybe I need to set up a biennial Auto-ship 😛.

I was going to replace my entire disposal but for some reason I thought I would look to see if I could just replace the existing magnetic stopper. I was surprised that they are sold and when I applied the stopper it worked like new. Saved me hundreds of dollars. Very grateful!!!

My house came with a sink with this item. It started cracking, I was panicking but this was a perfect replacement. Sturdy hits the magnets perfectly.

A necessary evil, for the operation of the Insinkeator. Because the embedded magnets are iron/steel, over time will start to swell, as they rust. Eventually the swelling is enough to prevent its use. Keep a spare on hand.

This one did not work well in my garbage disposal. Was hard to turn and didn't activate the disposal consistently. Had better luck with a name brand one.

I wasn't quite sure how to fix our disposal, but a quick Amazon search brought this item up. It's easy to use, works just like the original, and was a lot cheaper than I expected for a replacement part.
