Produces a nice flame and the knobs offer good adjustability. I didn't give 5 stars because the inner burner wasn't level with the outer burner. It's easy to bend it back to level, but you'll probably crack/chip off some of the paint/enamel.

I own a 24-inch Garcima carbon steel paella pan which I have used to make paella on my Weber charcoal grill. The problem with cooking on an open charcoal flame is the challenge with controlling the heat source. Even though in Spain it is preferable to cook a paella on an open flame, it is definitely a skill I have yet to master. Which is why I decided to purchase a gas burner, such as this Garcima L-50 Professional Paellero gas burner. I have seen others use these effectively and had high expectations that it would work better than the grill.Review:I purchased this product in conjunction with the Garcima Reinforced Burner Tripod Support, and the Sportsman LPHK5 5-Foot Propane Regulator Hose Kit. My overall impression of the assembled product is that they looked durable, had a very nice color and finish on both the burner and the tripod, and offered a more than adequate support base with the 24-inch paella pan sitting on top of the burner. This gas burner offers two rings of flame. With everything connected, we immediately experienced issues with lighting the inner ring. While playing with the knobs of the burner and the regulator hose, we eventually were able to get it to catch and hold a flame. But we noticed that you couldn’t adjust the size of the flame very well, if at all. It was either on or off. There were no issues with the outer ring, as it lit up quickly. With the paella pan at room temperature, and olive oil in the pan (also at room temperature), as soon as I lit the inside ring and tried setting it to its smallest size, the oil began boiling in under 10 seconds. The was a concern because it was obvious the flame was way too strong as a heat source to cook with a paella pan. We continued playing with the knobs in an attempt to adjust the flame, but it seemed like the only settings were either on or off. We did notice that the blue knob associated with the inner ring was slightly bend. Whether this played a factor or not I cannot say.The instructions were also not very helpful.Given I had a sizable party waiting to be fed, we completed the paella by turning both rings on, mixing the content of the paella enthusiastically as the bottom blackened, covering the pan, and shutting off the heat for 10 or so minutes, only to repeat the cycle throughout the process. Even through this process, over 50 percent of the bottom of the pan was charred. Either I was doing something wrong, or there is something defective with this particular burner, because I cannot understand how anyone can make a paella on this burner without burning the entire pan within the first 15 minutes. (I should add that my dad, who has had a successful career as an executive chef for over 45 years, was helping me through this process. The point is that we're not amateurs when it comes to cooking.)Needless to say, I am returning this product. Given this experience, I think I am better off using the Weber grill and working on improving my timing.

This is the second burner we have purchased of three that have have had an issue with the propane valves. The first was missing a set screw and had I not checked the valve would have fallen off and propane would have gone everywhere. One of the two we just purchased has a set screw put in improperly too. I was worried it would come loose like the last one and upon inspection the set screw is cross threaded and stripped out! Quality of assembly on these has gone way down over the last few years. Parts are still the same quality, but watch out the valves don't fall out and you have propane go everywhere!!!!

Whats the recommended regulator and hose? I see one site saying 10 psi but most are 20 and up on Amazon. Then I see high and low pressure. I have the L50, they gave zero info on what to buy and aI didn't even realize it didn't come with one.
