About this item

  • The UltraFit nylon straps are lightweight, soft and comfortable to wear.
  • The strap design loops around the pins and is secured via two sets of hook and loop fasteners at both ends of the strap, providing easier adjustability and a secure fit for a variety of wrist sizes.
  • Made with an elastic dual-layer nylon weave that allows moisture to escape.

Note, I did not buy my strap off of Amazon, but from Garmin directly. I wanted to give my thoughts.I have bought many silicone bands for my Garmin Epix gen 2. Two from Garmin and many from aftermarket sellers. Overall, most of the bands have been good. Some aftermarket bands I liked more than a Garmin silicone band.I decided to try a nylon band because I heard that the accuracy of the heart rate sensor can improve due to being able to make the band tighter without being too tight (due to elastic). Probably not true, but I tried it anyway. Overall, the main reason to keep wearing the band was comfort. For the pros, the bands are very comfortable because there is a slight elastic nature to them. You can make it a little tighter if needed and it can still be very comfortable. You can adjust it very quick too. Just lift and set down. Over all the silicone bands that I have, I find these Ultrafit bands to be so much more comfortable by at least 2x and maybe 3x. Even when I think about the watch, I don't know that I am wearing it because I cannot feel the band. With a desk job using a keyboard, these bands are perfect. There is no buckle that you rest your wrist on. Trust me, that is a nice thing. For cons, there are a handful, but that does not detract from how nice these straps are to wear. First, these are stupid expensive for what they really are and probably for how much they cost to make. They really are, but people like me will buy them because they are really good to wear and I guess solve the overall comfort problem of the bulky, stiff, buckle-laden, silicone strap. Whether it is working, sleeping, or working out, I want to wear the nylon strap hands down. Every now and then, the end of the strap will catch something and pop up a bit. It is not a big deal, but it happens. The second issue is that if you really love these nylon straps, you will need at least one more. Yeah, it is true. The reason is that they don't dry that quick. So if you exercise in them and they get full of sweat, they are wet. If you shower in them, they will get wet too. Now wearing them damp is not the end of the world and I have done it, but I will say that they make your arm under them stink a bit. So I like to take the strap off and wash it quick and let it dry. Then I take another strap and use that one until I need to dry it etc. So that is where the silicone bands really shine. They dry quickly with one swipe of a towel and they don't stick to the towel too.Lastly, I think having a silicone band as a backup is a good idea for swimming. I have not swam in my band, but I have forgotten to take it off before a shower and the watch felt looser. I am not sure that I would want to risk a $1000 watch and losing it in a lake or an ocean. I think I would opt with a silicone official garmin band for that.Other thoughts:I do not know a lot about velcro and different types, but I have been wondering how long these will remain 'sticky'. I have owned my current band for a few months and I take it off the watch a few times a week and it seems to not be wearing the band down at all. That is comforting. For the price, I would hope that these bands would last a few years, but we will see.Overall, it sounds like there are a lot of negatives, but it is really not the case. These ultrafit bands are absolutely fantastic for comfort and I love having mine. Expensive, totally. Do they improve upon the silicone bands, I would say yes for most uses minus what I noted above.

This strap is perfect for every day use. It feels very breathable and doesn't get as hot/sweaty as the silicone straps. Its very nice for sleeping as well.

This is fine, love it, makes it easier to wear a rather big and heavy watch. That said there are generics for less than half the price that are just as good.
