This lock is very heavy and well built. The lock is buttery smooth. Make sure you buy the correct door thickness (50mm or 70mm). I tried a few cheapo locks in the $30* range and had to return them. Spend the $ for this. You won’t regret it. It’s a keeper for me.

Don’t buy this item. It’s trash!I bought this item for my gate that I was going to build.I ended up building my gate a month later after I purchased the Item. I installed the lock and didn’t work. It was getting stuck and not easy to unlock or lock.I try to return it but it was 2 months after I bought it. So now $100 is going.So sad ! Looks good but it’s not well built.I just want to let you guy now not to buy.If you’re going to buy it you better install as soon as it arrives so you will have plenty time to return it.

Well, kind of bummed because I thought you could lock the gate but the key only turns the metal bar but doesn’t actually lock it.Trying to secure my dog in the backyard and looking for something that locks.Might work for others though if you don’t need it to lock.

Excellent product but but had to return 2 locks because of parts missing, although amazon returned my money immediately I still had to pay out before, I can reluctantly accept 1 error but 2 consetive with parts missing just not good enough!!!!!

Purchased this 13 months ago. The internal cog shattered into pieces (see photo) locking my wife and kids inside our courtyard. Paid £63 for this and it broke in pieces in just over a year. Awful product and no way to contact GateMate for a refund or response.

Previously purchased Gate Mate with key use both sides, this item is much bettet; high quality, heavy with thumb turn. I would never purchase the key use one again, this is infinitely superior.

This is a really strong and robust lock, well made and easy to install. Comes with easy instructions and the flat bit for drilling the holes.
