This goes on the radiator (no spring0 and fit perfectly on factory and replacement radiators. No issues or leaks.Would recommend over higher priced local parts store.

I bought this to replace the leaking Motorad cap on my car. I went through 3 Motorad caps in a year. I figured I'd spend a little more for a Gates. Surprise, there is a Motorad cap in the Gates Box.

Fit the radiator of my 08 Nissan Xterra. I had an issue where a small amount of coolant would evaporate and found it was due to my factory expansion tank cap losing some of its spring over the years. Factory cap is set to 14psi, when the cap doesn't hold pressure like its supposed to the boiling point for the coolant drops and you'll lose some due to evaporation. I replaced the radiator cap with this one and the expansion tank cap as well and my issue was solved for about $10. This cap is rated at 42psi. The expansion tank cap is what actually relieves pressure in the system.This Gates cap will only fit the radiator. If you need the expansion tank cap you need a different one with a spring that is rated for 16 psi. 10233 is the Stant part number for that.
