Thought I'd be smooth and stop at changing the belt alone to rid the wife of squeal. Fast forward 2 months and squeal is back. Not anymore with this pulley.

Fits exact as they are what comes OEM. Quiet but I replaced them when I replaced the serpentine belt at 85K. The 2.7T uses two of these total. One on the idler and one on the tensioner.Hope they last a while!

perfect replacement for tensioner on 2004 Corolla. Got rig of the squeak and much easier, less costly to replace than the entire tensioner unit. Yes, it is plastic but the plastic part will never wear out. What wears on these is the bearing and you can have a pretty high confidence level in the quality of Gates bearings.

Bought a 1999 Toyota Corolla with 220k on the clock. Ive no doubt she's got plenty more miles in her, but some things were in need of repair and the tensioner was one of them. Pulley was very unhappy, and the belt had seen better days. This Gates pulley was the perfect fit for the tensioner assembly that was on the car. Mine did require a torx socket to remove, but it can be done on the car. Remove belt, pop the cap off the old pulley, removed torx bolt, swap pulley, install torx bolt. Old cap wont fit this Gates unit, but no biggie.Installed the new pulley with a new Bando belt and she runs like a sewing machine. Highly recommend.

Perfect replacement for Volkswagen mk4 1.8T/2.0 serpentine belt tensioners. A lot less expensive than replacing the whole assembly, and at a fraction of the cost.Installation is simple. Remove tensioner assembly from engine, apply PBlaster to back of pulley bolt and let soak. Then take a mapp has torch and briefly heat the mount around the bolt. Flip it over and remove the bolt now that the PBlaster and heat break it free. Then install the new pulley.

My Ford explorer tensioner pulley was making a bad bearing noise. Since the pulley on the OEM tensioner is a Gates, I ran the part number stamped on it and and found I could just replace it at a much lower cost rather than replacing the whole tensioner from Ford since the tensioner still had good spring tension to it. Better spending a few bucks versus spending a couple of hundred for the OEM tensioner.
