Always good to replace 25 year old rubber with fresh. This is identical to the factory part. Gates has always been top quality, in some cases better than OEM replacements.

I really don't see the issue with this PVC piping other than that stupid ideology by US government over Emissions Control. Emission may work as considered in USA if everyone was onboard but most all government vehicles and aircrafts do not carry emission components because they know the improvement really isn't all there. What is bad about this component is the cheap rubber hose on the other end that goes into the if recall MAP sensor. Without MAP sensor your vehicle isn't going anywhere, and they are not cheap if need to replace.
