Tried installing a timing belt from a kit on my 03 Subaru Outback 2.5L and could not get it to work. Ordered the Gates belt and it had the correct timing marks and exact length to make it easy to install with the new idler pulleys. Highly recommend using Gates timing belts! They save time on installation and are durable!! Better than OEM!!

I had to redo head gaskets after 40K miles, and in that time my crank shaft pulley wanted to walk into the timing cover and timing belt. Only took off maybe 1 or 2 mm but was more then enough to just change out the belt. All the markings were correct.

High quality product. Fit perfectly on my 2003 Subaru Legacy L wagon. Timing marks on the belt matched up perfectly with the marks on the cam sprockets.

I used this on a Subaru engine, as I had earlier installed a gates tensioner which the previous belt did not track properly with so I put the old Subaru tensioner back on with this new belt. The washers on the gates tensioner were too soft and distorted easily when tightened down the bolt which caused an alignment problem. The washers on the Subaru tensioner are very hard and won't bend or even scratch.
