These plastic combs are getting hard to find in-stock at any of the big-box office supply stores. This GBC 3/8" Dia. version works great with documents up to 25 pages with a front and back cover stock sheet (not sure how you'd get 55 sheets to work in one). The flexible plastic material GBC uses nowadays is 1/2 as thick as the old ones, but still works fine for turning out professional looking bound documents. Priced at $4/100, but there's a $7.50 shipping charge, so buy an extra box or two when you order and only get stuck with some smaller incremential shipping charge.

Perfect for binding. Perfectly compatible with my CombBind manual binding machine. I ordered a couple of different sizes of these spines, since I use these frequently for my students as well as my homeschool. I have found these easy to use & even reopen to add or remove pages, when I use these with the binding machine. Dare I say it's almost FUN to use!

These are pretty big, I made a binder of mementos saved from my favorite work place, notes, cards, photos, etc. Had a stack of pages which had items glued to them, about 3 inches worth. Worked great! Now all the mementos are secure in a binder. Using various size binding spines I am getting a little collection of same size booklets that line up well on a book shelf. No more boxes of saved stuff in the closet.

I purchased these combs 4 months ago. So far I have used only a few but they are holding up right. The combs seems durable and I have them holding thick drawing paper. The made up drawing pads are 1/2 inch thick, the pages turn easily with this thick comb. It is very hard to find this size without either paying a lot or buying by the hundreds. I think that 25 combs for less than 6 dlls (at the time of this review) it's a very good purchase. I am pleased with the quality and price both.

I'm using an Amazonbasics binder which seems to no longer be for sale. I bought one year ago, gray/black in case it helps. Other brands fit fine, but these gaps are slightly more narrow. I was able get it to work without too much trouble, but I'm using the 2" version. Smaller sizes may or may not have more significant issues. Still gave it 5 stars, but I wanted to mention it since I've ordered every other size (I try to find the warehouse deals) and the other brands fit perfectly.

For books from 50 pages on up. Do not use 1/2" for more than 50 pages. The 3/4" is so much easier and quicker to bind
