This has been going strong in our local elementary school for about 6 months now. It was easy to assemble and easy to use. It has proven to be very durable after a few user-errors when loading new laminating rolls. Works very well and was a much better price than other big stores that sell office supplies.

Mfgr has added EZ load feature to help change film, that's good.. Using built-in cutter will make film length too short and will cause film to continue threading through a seam in the back panel and wad-up inside. That's bad. This will require removal (4 screws) of back panel to clear blockage. To prevent this from happening, we keep alligator clips weighted with a little fishing weight attached to film where it exits to add a little weight and keep the film from curling around and doing this.

This laminator is a very difficult to work with. First of all, the end caps on the top loading film bar were glued on and I had to have our maintenance dept pry them off. Once they got the endcaps off so I could load new laminating film, the end caps had dried glue all over them. I tried cleaning the end caps, but nothing worked. Now, the top roller is dragging due to the glue build up. Just purchased the machine last week. Would like to get a refund. Instruction manual was so poor in quality, I could not see the pictures. No help there.

Problems started 45 days in when a screw deep inside the Ultima 65 came loose and started ruining projects. After my local repair man fixed that, stated he had never seen a problem with GBC machines like that until this new machine. (my previous GBC was more than 20 years old) digital screen is stuck on 075 and wont reset. Also no longer turns itself off. I"m stuck with a piece of junk. Customer service wanted to send out their repair guy for a huge amount of money....not even on the phone tech support.

We ordered this laminator, for our school, after having the older version for several years. Unfortunately, the first one we ordered, while arriving quickly, came broken. The whole right side was cracked/broken. Thankfully, the exchange was fairly simple. The second one arrived in no time, in good condition. Unfortunately, not long after we received it, the display stopped working correctly. Now, less than 11 months after delivery, the laminator stopping running all together. The previous version lasted 4-5yrs. This one didn't even make it a year. Needless to say, we are very disappointed. If you plan to order this, be sure to add the warranty or it's NOT worth the investment. After so long with the previous one, we surely didn't think an expensive warranty was worth our $. Turns out we were wrong.
