Tare Weighing:
1. Turn on the scale.
2. Place a tray or container on the scale platform.
3. Press T button and 0.00 will displayed.
4. Add items to the container or tray.
Count Pieces:
Note: All items must be of uniform weight for the counting feature to work. 1. Turn on the scale.
2. Press and hold the PCS button until you see PCS flash on the top left corner of the lcd display, and a sample count(25) displayed.
3. Press the M button until the display shows the sample count you want(available sample counts are 25/50/60/75/100), then place the sample count on the platform same as the lcd shows, and press PCS button to confirm.
4. Press PCS button again for counting, you may now place any number of the items on the scale, lcd will display a count.

GDEALER DS1: First off, I don't personally think this scale is well suited for the kitchen unless you're feeding mice or small birds. For food preparation it should have at least double it's 500 gm (approximately 18 oz) capacity.Having said that, I also have to say that I don't see anything to dislike about it. The backlit display is clean and very readable and the function buttons are where they should be - on the control panel. Speaking of functions, there are enough unit conversions built into the device to satisfy almost anybody - including some found only on specialized weighing devices: Carat weight (ct), Pennyweight (dwt), Troy ounces, (ozt) and Grains (gn). These are in addition to the usual Ounces (oz) and Grams (g), of course. There is also the ability to count small items and to calibrate the scale if ever you suspect that it has gotten less accurate.It is powered by two triple-A Alkalines, so you'll seldom have to change batteries and comes with Acrylic protective covers which double as weighing trays. A fine piece of engineering and a bargain at it's price.

This is the cutest little milligram scale, and is so easy to use. It seems to be very accurate and comes with 2 different trays to use to weigh things, and makes it easy to clean up after using it. I have been using it daily since purchase and have had no issues. Edit... granted I've only had it for about a month.. so we'll see how it goes. Happy so far and hope it stays that way!

Pros:- Small and lightweight- Accurate- Comes with a cover for the sensitive weight plate- Comes with a plate to measure items on- standard AAA batteries so you can use rechargeable onesCons:- Only 500g max weight- the batteries they come with are cheap and don't last very long- looks different than in most of those picturesI diet often in which cause I count calories and measure all my food using food scales. I'm also very anal about my coffee as I use a french press and I like to get the ratio of water to coffee grind perfect so I was looking for a scale with .01 gram accuracy. I own other food scales with 1gram accuracy but they don't do well when measuring lighter things like chia seeds or coffee grind or anything that's very light. Even if you want just 2 grams of something, i noticed those other scales just don't work as well as i want. I end up putting more of the item before the scale moves at all. This is why i like/needed this scale. Its very sensitive so the number moves even as I add a little bit of my food item. Coffee grind is light but the scale catches every drop of it so i feel satisfied with every measurement. The one big downside of this scale though is that it only measures up to 500g. This is why you still need to pair this scale with a scale that measures a higher capacity. It's very small so its easy to store away along side my 1g precision scale. It comes with cheap AAA batteries and I like the fact that at least it uses AAA batteries since I have a lot of rechargeable ones at home.All in all, this is a pretty good scale for the price. If you feel other scales don't work well taking smaller measurements of lighter items, try this guy.

Been using it for a few months and put it to the test against coins (you can research the weight of a coin) a few times and its passed these tests every time. Previous balance from a different seller started being off after 2 months of use. This one seems to last.
