Purchase to replace my original gasket. I thought it was a GE genuine part, now I don't believe it is. Since it's a washer gasket we as a family of had to wait to schedule install, and we were also out of town shortly after purchased arrived. Watching DIY install videos I realized I also needed a tool for the spring clamp, which took about a week to arrive. Once installed, I didn't think part fit quit right, and sure enough after about 1 week washer leaked due to a hole in the fold or seam. Contacting seller via Amazon I was informed by the sellar that I could return for refund or replacement but Amazon needed to provided shipping label. Contacting Amazon, Amazon told me sellar needed to provide shipping label...omg! Back and forth! Frustrated I asked for Amazon’s ATo Z guarantee but was denied once without any explanation, appealed and was denied again with reason that I was outside the 30 day return policy. NEVER PURCHASE FROM HAMLIN TEC! YOUR WASTING YOUR TIME AMD MONEY IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM!

The boot is a bit pricey, and I would be hesitant to install an aftermarket part for fear it wouldn't be as durable as the original. I found removing the old boot was easy. Installing the new one is a bit of a challenge, as you have to work the edge of the boot over the narrow lip where the clamp goes. A word of caution to new do-it-yourselfers. Once the front panel is removed from the washer, all the exposed sheet metal around the boot is sharp. I found this out the hard way. Had to do over, I would have wore leather gloves with the fingers cut out.
