My middle schooler is required to have a binder for school (backpacks not allowed in class). We bought a popular name brand 2Γ’β¬Β binder, and the zipper died on DAY ONE (ugh). We think it was a quality issue exacerbated by just how much stuff the school was having him force into itΓ’β¬Β¦it just couldnΓ’β¬β’t take it. So, I looked for a 3Γ’β¬Β version, and found this. It is expensive, but seemed to check all the boxes (large, durable, shoulder strap). Well, we are in week 5 with this binder and it is still going strong! Looks like new and has already had so much abuse.I like the outside pocket where he can keep his school iPad, because if the zipper does fail for any reason, it wonΓ’β¬β’t just clunk out onto the floor. That same pocket also accommodates his TI calculator and a small book. He likes the pockets and various loops/holders all around the binder. If he takes a larger book to school, itΓ’β¬β’s roomy enough for him to throw it into the main compartment without a problem. The Velcro closure for the interior accordion pockets is perfect- keeps it nice and tight, and his boxes of markers and colored pencils fit well in there (itΓ’β¬β’s ridiculous the stuff he has to carry around all day). I bought some heavy duty carabiner clips for the outside loops, so he can attach his water bottle for the days he has Phy Ed.The only issue I have with this is the same reason I like itΓ’β¬Β¦itΓ’β¬β’s HUGE. I had surprised him with an expensive Naruto backpack that he was dying to have for middle school, but because the carry handle on this is so beefy, and the binder itself is wide, we can barely fit it in his backpack, let alone adding else he needs. So, that is something to consider. Also, with durability apparently comesΓ’β¬Β¦weight. This binder is fairly heavy. Once you add in 1 or 2 books, a large iPad, calculator, markers, pencils, loose leaf paper, a planner, folders, schoolwork, etc, it adds up quickly. My son is big for his age and he says heΓ’β¬β’s fine, but I could never see my tiny daughter putting up with it.All in all, I highly recommend this for its durability and overall capacity. This was clearly designed for a rugged environment. Just be thoughtful about who is using it, and how. The size and weight could be a negative factor depending on the user.EDIT - Nov 15, 2023: This binder is still going strong after many weeks of use and tons of homework. No issues with the handle, strap, zipper, internal pockets, anythingΓ’β¬Β¦all are in perfect working order! So my recommendation still stands!EDIT - May 21, 2024: The main carry handle finally gave up the ghost yesterday. Maybe my son just yanked too hard, but he did say that it was starting to unravel a few days earlier, and he admitted to carrying the binder by the handle most of the time, and not by the shoulder strap. So, the handle has been bearing all the weight this whole time, and lately, heΓ’β¬β’s been keeping up to 6 additional books (why???) in the binder, so itΓ’β¬β’s very heavy. I bought a curved needle to sew the handle back on, since thereΓ’β¬β’s only three weeks of school left, but wanted to post an update here to show that with a heavy load and good amount of abuse from a 12-yr-old boy, you MIGHT make it through one school year! Best of luck to you all.

I ordered this for my 12 year old son for school because they do not allow the students to carry around backpacks. He needed something to put his Chromebook and the supplies for class in instead of carrying them around in his hand. The case is large, sturdy, and organized. It has multiple folders and sections in it for files, pencils, and miscellaneous supplies you need for class. It also has holes for paper and dividers (which comes with it) which allows him to separate his class papers and stay organized. It also comes with the strap which made it super convenient. He is able to put all of his supplies for class in it as well as his Chromebook and charger and still has plenty of room. He stuffs it pretty well and it has held up so far so the quality seems to be good. I ordered with prime and it took a little bit longer to be delivered but thatΓ’β¬β’s not really any reflection on the product. It was a little pricey, but I guess for the quality it may be worth it, it has held up for 3 months against a middle schooler so thatΓ’β¬β’s pretty good. If you are looking for a product to replace a backpack that is sturdy and convenient, I would recommend this.

My son used this two years in a row for school. Works great, sturdy and great for organizing.

My granddaughter started middle school the 5th of August with a brand new required binder in case. Highly recommended by the school. It looks terrific and offers many extras that are put to good use. Rings and files are Good quality . My big complaint are the zippers.2 major zippers did not hold up under normal wear. Only 2 & 1/2 months and they broke. One is missing the pull, and the major case closure came out of its track. I feel this may have been a lemon, and for the amount of money paid it should be replaced or money returned. I hope that the company will honor and stand behind their product. Thank you

I have tried a few different store brands of Trapper keeper for my son, who carries a lot of heavy stuff for school. This is the only brand that has held up through the abuse. I was going to buy another this year, but after closer inspection it is nearly perfect. Other than the handle losing durability in the threads, it is immaculate. The fabric on it is easy to clean and wipe down, which is a plus. Overall, Would recommend!

Only issue is that the zipper feels backwards for some reason? Besides that it's great. Like 3 in rings. Fits my laptop and a few manuals (50-100 page range) and a bunch of other crap.

We LOVE the bag. It fits everything my son needs for school. Has a wonderful paper organization pocket. The zipper is rugged and holding up a LOT better then the last one we bought. The strap does great for carrying. The handle FEELS rugged and sturdy, however after less than 2 months of use, the reinforcement onto the bag was not ideal andone side broke in no time. VERY disappointed in the handle. Makes it difficult for my son to pick up and get in his backpack. Overall a good binder. But the handle makes it not quite worth the much higher price.

As all the other reviews my 12 year old needed the 3inch binder for middle school. He was tired of having a separate laptop sleeve. I've already had to replace the zipper pulls in certain areas. Looks like the material is getting thinner too. I'm unsure if this will survive the school year to be honest. He never takes it home so it's only used at school and put in his locker. He brought it home during the break so I could have a look and repair things as needed. Not really worth the price for how bad it's holding up.

Nothing special about this binder. Not that it is a poor purchase, but itΓ’β¬β’s your regular binder that you may find cheaper at Walmart.
