These are great to have if you need a 5/8" flex spark plug kit. The bonus is the magnet built into the socket so you wont drop the plug.

These sockets are of the excellent quality I've come to expect from Gearwrench. This is the second Gearwrench product I own, and I have been thoroughly impressed. I didn't know if I'd like the magnetic aspect, but they worked flawlessly. My 2 Escapes have transverse-mounted engines, and the rear bank plugs can be difficult to get to. These made it an absolute breeze to complete a tune-up. As long as you don't crank on them, they'll work for you. I did have one get stuck in the socket, but a quick tap with a hammer convinced it out. The plugs don't fully seat into the socket, which did make me skeptical at first, but these were able to remove what I thought to believe were original (167k miles) spark plugs. Don't let that keep you from buying them. Buy them. You'll never want to use a spark plug socket with a rubber insert ever again.

these are definitely worth the extra money over the cheaper sets. the quality feels great and they hold the spark plugs very snug and tight

These are the best spark plug sockets I have ever used. Fitment was tight. No rubber gasket to fall out and the magnet was extremely strong.

Can't really rate these 5 stars and I'll tell you why. I make a living as a professional European automotive technician and fleet mechanic for a public transit. These sockets are a huge timesaver pulling/installing plugs when working space is cramped like the E450 6.8L equipped Ford Econoline cutout used by our fleet. Easy to put torque on the swivel joint to break sparkplugs loose. My only gripe is that the magnets aren't driven deep enough into the socket and end up grabbing 2/3rds of the business end of the sparkplugs. Using them like this could potentially cause the socket to slip off or worse , round off the hex collar of the plug. Not sure if they were intentionally assembled this way or a by-product of sloppy manufacturer. The magnets could stand to be 0.5mm to 1.0mm deeper to securely grab all 6 sides of the sparkplug hexMy fix is to get a short 5/8 or 9/16 bolt for socket needing rework, thread a nut on the end of it to give yourself a larger surface to hit. Put the socket in a protected vise, and use a brass deadblow hammer to tap the magnet farther into the socket. I ended up doing this to all of the sockets in the set using new sparkplugs from our parts room to visually test fit.Obviously you don't want to use an impact wrench on these, as it may shatter the joint, socket or magnet. I'll update this review as the set gets used more to report on durability over time.

As of now these are about 60$ for the full set and what a steal that is! These are super nicely built and have super strong magnets. Time will tell how they hold up but so far they are amazing

I am a mechanic and have used these a ton at work I love them! and many of my coworkers have borrowed them as well because they work so well, having the magnet is much nicer than the rubber insert makes for a better grip but not too tight like some of the rubber inserts, I also really like having the swivel for getting into hard to reach areas and you don't have to worry about the extension falling off, I would definitely recommend these to anyone that regularly changes spark plugs

These are pricey.......thats for sure.However, this kit offers everything I have ever needed for changing spark plugs making the once very dreaded job not so bad. I have bought many over the years and I AM SO SICK OF THE RUBBER ONES!!!!!!! Either getting stuck on the spark plug or giving you a false sense that the socket is on the plug properly....this is no joke the rubber ones just suck. These you can make no mistake they are the best I have ever seen and guard them with my life and will never lend them out, its one of those things lol. Just makes life unbelievably better in the world of auto repair especially hard to get plugs.
