I went too many years not having this tool, don’t know why. It’s so basic to DIY car maintenance, no reason not to have one in your toolbox. Instead of installing the drum and adjusting the shoes, this tool helps you preset them beforehand. You may need fine tuning afterwards but this’ll get you very close. My VW camper has a very awkwardly placed adjuster so this is critical. Very satisfied with its performance and also the purchase.

I just received this. Although I've not used it yet I was surprised by the quality and build of this tool. It is easy to adjust, a good solid feel to it, and the lettering is easy to read. I'd recommend this.

This tool is a must have when adjusting your hand break. It can save you so much time and heart ache when you can't adjust just by guessing... I spent all day trying to figure out if the hand break was working or not, until I bought this tool .. It took first time to get it right.. so happy I got this..

This tool makes brake repair much easier when dealing parking brakes (drums) mixed with discs. It wasn't totally foolproof for the novice like myself, but it was exponentially easier and more accurate than using a tape measure like I initially tried (that failed miserably). Definitely recommend this tool.
