I bought this to replace my Icon light that was very similar to this in function, albeit a bit bigger and brighter and better magnet. The Icon was stolen and I feared this might be stolen as well so I got this cheaper version. I did not expect much but it has been very useful. I am a technician that does inspections including brakes and suspension so the extra light in a wheel well is great. It is small enough to fit in a pocket and the bright orange highlights help me to not forget it. Chances are that I will prob forget this on a car one day but at $20, this is yet another great quality and value tool from Gearwrench.

Great light. Have always been happy with GearWrench light products, have many different ones. If the magnet was stronger it would get 5 stars.

4 ½ stars rounded up to 5. The 10 ½ “ Flex Head Rechargeable Light arrived in a difficult to open package. Instructions are included in English, French, and Spanish. The light arrived partially charged. The four blue indicator lights are very visible and work well. Only a charging cord is included (no block). According to the instructions there is a hot/cold delay (the battery won’t charge if too hot or cold). The fully charged run times differ depending on which lights are used, so the “up to 35 hours run time†is accurate but not what you should expect. We expect to get just over 3 hours since the flood light will be used the most. The instructions say:3 hours for the 400 lumen “articulating head†LED lights/flood light10 hours for the 150 lumen “spotlight LEDâ€/flashlight35 hours for the 50 lumen “articulating head spotlight LEDâ€/tip light (the smallest light at the end of the flex head)The instructions were excellent except the flashlight turns on by quickly clicking the “multifunction button†(it’s the only button) twice, not by pressing and holding the button. The other three lights activate with one click (the cycle is flood light, red flood light, tip light, off). If you’ve been using the light for at least 5 seconds the next click will turn it off. The LED light area “glows†for a minute after turning off. There’s no “last light used†memory. The white flood light may be dimmed by holding the button down, and will flash twice at both the low and high end which is helpful. The area around the tip light is magnetic for finding small screws, etc., and the magnet on the bottom is strong and easily holds the light in place. There’s also a hang hook and the ability to clamp the light in place (the flat bottom, which allows the light to be placed on a flat surface, pulls out). The light feels good when held in the hand. The articulating/flexible head works well. There are ten fixed positions (0 to 180 degrees), and it also smoothly rotates 0 to 180 degrees.Noted in the instructions:“If the product is unused for approximately 90 days, fully charge the battery to help prolong the life of the batteryâ€.“This worklight is not serviceable. The LED light bulbs and battery can not be replaced by the user.â€This light does everything it’s supposed to, and it does it well; I’m glad I ordered it. Just don’t expect a 35-hour run time. Hopefully the LED light bulbs and battery will last a good while. Made in China.

This is a vine review meaning the product was provided to be reviewed. This product is a handheld magnetic- and clamp-attachable swiveling work light with lithium ion batteries, a power cord, and instruction pamphlet. No power block is included. The product is packaged in a color printed blister pack with a window displaying the product. See attached detail photograph of product packaging with a pop can as a size reference.I was surprised by the small size of this work light. See attached photograph of the product out of its packaging with a pop can as a size reference.Having recently used a large work light in the tight confines of my entertainment center, I appreciated how useful a small work light like this could be. I wish I had it when I was working on my television equipment.I used the included cord with my own power block to charge the product. The back of the product has four small blue lights to indicate the charge level of the internal lithium ion batteries. To use the product, the small black wand is tilted up and away from the handle and a button on the back of the handle is pressed. A single press turns on the wand, a second press turns the wand light red, and a third press turns on a small beam light on the tip of the wand. There is also a brighter beam light on the tip of the handle, which is activated by two rapid clicks of the button. Both the base of the handle and the tip of the wand are magnetic, but for different reasons. The magnet on the base is strong enough to hold the product to a ferrous surface. The magnet at the tip of the wand is used to retrieve wayward screws and other small metallic objects. The base also has a pull out spring-loaded clamp that extends about one and a half inches from the handle and can be used to mount the light on non-magnetic edges. Additionally, there is a fold out hook that can be used to hang the light. All in all, this is a well designed and versatile product for use in tight spaces that need light. At $50, this work light is not inexpensive. However, it fills a gap in my toolbox and it will do the job well. I only hope the lithium-ion batteries can be replaced when their life is exhausted!
