I installed this on a 2002 Acura RSX Base model. This part can only be obtained from Honda and you will also need a handheld vacuum pump in order to install it properly. I bought this part because I was getting P1078 on my scanner prior to taking it in for inspection. P1078 and P1077 are errors associated with the IMRC (Intake Manifold Runner Control) or Rotary Valve as Honda calls it and other DTCs can be triggered as well if it is not working properly. You will need the vacuum pump in order to ensure that the new one properly lines up into the plastic manifold. There is a tab inside the plastic manifold that goes into the groove of the rotary valve (see pic). You apply vacuum to the new piece in order to rotate the cylinder until the groove lines up with the tab, you should slide the piece into the manifold while the vacuum is applied. You will feel the piece sink in a little bit that lets you know it is properly installed. It took me about three attempts until I got it right which meant having to assemble and removing everything over and over until my scanner no longer detected any DTCs. Take your time and do it properly otherwise you will not get rid of the fault codes.

This worked to fix my P0661 error code. It is not a very easy job. The intake manifold it rather hard to get out. I ended up removing the intake, and throttle body, and the latch for the bonnet. Then spent 30 minutes wiggling the intake out. My suggestion, if your car is old but you want to keep your car for a while, would be to replace your starter motor while you have your intake out.
