This is to inform anyone searching for this part that Amazon incorrectly states that this doesn't fit a 07-08 Acura TL. It is the exact OEM replacement for this vehicle (28900-RYF-023).Don't trust Amazon when searching for the correct parts for your vehicle.I installed this in my 98 Acura TL and it works perfectly. The check engine light is of and the D light no longer blinks. My transmission is shifting smoothly now.

Genuine Honda part, exactly like what I took out. Believe/hope this will fix the P1717 code and alarming "flashing D" and transmission service warnings I have been experiencing.There is an arrow and a line on this unit, just like the factory original. You line the arrow up to the line while the car is in neutral, it looks almost fool proof. The cable must have stretched on mine and like another reviewer my key wont come out in park unless I jiggle the shifter. This is a common problem with Hondas. I am going to try the final adjustments to fix this myself as I don't want to pay a stealership anything.On a Honda minivan there are two ways to get to this part.The first is take the drivers wheel off and bend some plastic back. I went to do this, but unfortunately somebody that owned my minivan before "staked" a bolt (bent metal over it so it can't be backed out without bending or removing the metal). The second method to get to this part is remove the battery, remove the battery support shelf and reach it from the top. I ended up having to do this since that bolt was staked and used a dremel to cut the staked part of the metal off since I couldn't get it to bend back... I wouldn't say I would kill the original owner for doing something stupid like staking such a bolt, but if I knew who he was, I would certainly setup a gofund me so he could get some training... At any rate, if you can't get to it from below, or just have big arms and hands there is the method from above. There are u-tubers that outline both methods.

Received a genuine Honda part, correct replacement for my 2007 odyssey with P1717 error code that been going on and off for a long while. Installation is a bit challenging, there are instructions on odyclub forum and works well.

This sensor is a perfect fit for the Odyssey and came in OEM Honda packaging. It has been on our van for about 3 months now with no issues whatsoever.

Two weeks after installation and everything seems to be shifting smoothly.Note that this part can be used for multiple different types of vehicles, including Acura models. Make sure to check the part number is compatible with your vehicle. You can search “transmission range switch†or “neutral safety switch†along with your car year and model. Even though Amazon said that this part was not compatible with my car, it actually was the correct part.
