Replaced a broken remote lock on my 2007 Accord. Two screws hold it in. Replaced it in 10 minutes before work this morning. So glad to have my trunk remote working again. It must be connected to the trunk light too because that works again too. Woo hoo!

It has been a bit disturbing for me to have watched the prices of ALL the products and goods that we depend on and use daily escalate while the quality of these necessities plunge over the last 15-20 years...I drive an 07 Honda Accord Coupe and November 21, 2019, just a few short months ago, I had to replace this trunk lock assembly because one of the few levers that attaches to a spring that causes the devise to function properly snapped and broke. I thought fine, my car has some age and things will need to be replaced.I bit the bullet as a student living on student loans and ordered this $75 product because I am NOT the duct tape or rope it down guy. Now 7 months later, my trunk is is bungee'd down, temporarily...After spending about 40 minutes, in two different times, in the trunk of my car from the back seat with my mega beam flashlight and a couple of tools, I was able to open the trunk. The glow in the dark emergency open latch was ineffective, the lever that is attached to the spring that allows the emergency latch to function properly was broken. (a different plastic lever than the first time mind you)I have educated myself pretty thoroughly how this assembly works now as this will be my second replacement.I have done some research and have read many reviews and I might warmly suggest that you do yourself a favor and look at one of the top reviews for this device (attached below). This device is $19.99 and bares one difference that will require a modification and the difference is this: the 06 Honda that the $19.99 device fits (you are able to use a physical key to open the trunk), the 07 Honda that the much more expensive device fits (does NOT have the key option to unlock the trunk as there is a lever on the drivers side floor or you use the key-less entry option).74851-SDA-A22 Rear Tailgate Trunk Latch Lock Actuator Tail Gate Latch Motor For 2003-2006 Honda Accord 2004-2008 Acura TL 2.4 3.0 3.2 3.5L V6 L4I took this gamble and will receive the $19.99 trunk lock device later today and will find a friend that will be able to assist me with this simple modification and install it into my 07 Honda Accord...I suppose we live in an expensive and disposable world today!!!
