Crazy inexpensive and yet the best dustpan I've ever used. You can sweep up all the dirt and even super fine dust on the first attempt or perhaps just backing up once. It works way better than the one I had with a rubber strip, which seems impossible, but it's true. Sweep the whole house with only one trip to the trash can, no bending over, no backing up again and again to get that annoying line of dirt, no hassling over keeping a handheld dustpan with you as you move around (because this one stands up on it's own... I LOVE IT. Makes a daily chore SO much nicer.CONS: The only things I don't like is that it won't stand up on it's own "tall-ways" to take up less space and it would also be nice if it had a broom snap on thing for storing the two things together too. Makes me wonder if I should've gotten the competitor which has the features? But it was way more expensive and got fewer positive reviews. Overall, I am super-duper happy!PS It is NOT hard to toggle the handle between the 2 positions as some have said. It locks in place on purpose so it can stand up by itself. To unlock, simply push gently down on the handle until it unhooks. Even my kids can do it, super easy.

PROS: Lightweight, LARGE receptacle for sweeping into; BIGGER than I expected. Receptacle opening that easily accommodates the width of my broom. Does not appear to leave residue on the floor. Has a recess on handle to allow for hanging. Seems solidly made but unable to assess durability because I just got it today. No longer necessary to stoop down after sweeping. YIPPEEE!!!!!I much prefer sweeping to vacuuming and this accommodates me so very nicely. I expect to be sweeping more and vacuuming way less, now that I have this nifty new toy.CONS: As others have commented, it would be great to be able to swing the receptacle portion into a completely vertical position for hanging. I also somewhat agree with those who wish the handle was longer. I am 5'8" and by no means have to lean to use it but it just FEELS like it should have another 2'. On the other hand, actually using it was a smooth process. Might be just a question of getting used to it and forgetting about the length of the handle.Overall: I gave it four stars because of the things I mentioned in the Cons. Probably ought to be 5 taking price into account. Wait while I change to 5....there. Done.Buy This. You will be glad. To unwrap, cut or tear the plastic at the bottom and slide it up the handle. Use scissors to cut wrapping at top..you'll see. Probably wisest to cut top portion first, before sliding phase. Oh well...EDIT. THIS CAN BE HUNG VERTICALLY!!!!!! HERE'S HOW:1. PLACE IT STANDING UPRIGHT ON THE FLOOR2. WITH THE PALM OF YOUR HAND, FIRMLY PRESS DOWN ON THE TOP OF THE HANDLE..THEN:3. LEVER THE HANDLE FORWARD4. USING THE HANDLE, LIFT THE WHOLE THING UP FROM THE FLOOR AND >>>>>IT GOES VERTICAL!!!!5 TO PLACE BACK IN THE HORIZONTAL, SIMPLY REVERSE WHAT YOU JUST DID.ON INSPECTION, LOOKING AT THE REAR JUST BELOW THE HANDLE, YOU WILL SEE A LITTLE CLAMP-LIKE, TWO PRONG PROTRUSION AND THE PLACE WHERE IT "SEATS" ITSELF.BASED UPON MY PAST EXPERIENCES WITH ALL THINGS PLASTIC, THIS WOULD BE THE WEAKEST POINT AND WHERE FAILURE WILL FIRST OCCUR, THOUGH PROBABLY NOT FOR SOME YEARS. IT'S ALSO QUITE POSSIBLE THAT ONLY ONE OF THE TWO PRONGS WILL FAIL AND EVERYTHING WILL STILL WORK WELL ENOUGH. IT MAY ALSO NEVER FAIL BECAUSE NO PRESSURE TO MOVE IT OUT OF ALIGNMENT SEEMS LIKELY.IN ANY EVENT..THERE'S THE ANSWER. AND I JUST ORDERED A SECOND ONE BECAUSE I LOVE THIS THING. MAYBE I'LL GET A THIRD FOR RAKING FALLEN FRUIT INTO, OUT IN THE BACKYARD.

I had been using a regular dustpan after sweeping my good sized patio. I have lots of pine needles along with other associated debris.I have a bad back, so all the bending over after sweeping really irritated it. While getting my hair cut, I saw noticed the long handle dustpan for sweeping up after any hair cut. I wondered why I hadn’t thought of this sooner. I immediately came & checked prices at retail stores online. This one was less than half the price. When I found it here, I immediately ordered it. My mom has health issues at 87. After receiving mine I ordered one for her also. She loves it. Since it’s already assembled, it was shipped in a ginormous box. Since it was shipped for free, I wondered how a profit was even made, considering the sales price. It’s made very sturdy & will last a very long time. It picks up everything. I have lots of pine needles & various other typical debris. My back truly appreciates this dustpan. For whatever your intended purpose, I highly recommend this dustpan.

I can't find much to say about this item, other than it is made of sturdy plastic and has held up to the temperature fluctuations and weather vagaries of New England. (It lives on my balcony, uncovered.) I use it to sweep up spilled bird seed. It accommodates the sweepage and transitions smoothly between resting on the floor and dumping in a garbage bag. As I recall, this was one of the cheapest choices, as well.

I have seen this style of dustpan for years, but the price point was always an issue - i wasn't paying $30 for a duspan on a stick.I had a folding dustpan on a stick from Dollar Tree for years, but that finally broke bad enough that i was no longer able to repair it.So on to Amazon for a replacement. i expected i could find a lobby dustpan for under $20. I found this one for $6.90 prime, and purchased it immediately in case the price was an accident. For a ~$7 dustpan, you might not expect much. you would be wrong. this is a very sturdy dustpan. the handle is oblong, not round, to provide additional strength. the only bad thing about that is if the handle does get messed up somehow, you can't just use an old broom handle as a replacement. There is a bit of a learning curve - you have to push down on the handle to get the dustpan to flip up, which many users may not know...or you could just intentionally break the little tab that holds the dust pan at a perpendicular 90* angle so that you don't have to worry about it.Very highly recommend this dustpan, especially at the ~$7 prime price point. i am considering buying a couple more, just in case...
