I do not deny being thrifty when possible, but I know there are times when the original is better than any aftermarket option. In this case, my transmission gasket is better getting the original than the lackluster options being sold at my local automotive stores despite the much higher cost. The last thing I want is my transmission fluid leaking out of a bad seal. It slid in without much trouble and as long as the person installing it does not overtighten the bolts or doesn't alternate the tightening pattern, this gasket will last years without problems. When it comes to the transmission, please do not go cheap, not when the cost of the gasket is a drop in the bucket compared to rebuilding a transmission after all the fluid flowed out.

My brother and I have had issues with some transmission gaskets leaking in the past, so I thought I would go with the ACDelco on my 2004 Pontiac Sunfire. I replaced it a few months ago, and no leak problems. And ordering it online it is not much different in price than an aftermarket.

Nice and solid. Easy to mount because it’s not all folded up like the cheap ones that come with filters. Best thing, it’s reusable

The gasket came slightly bent (metal and plastic parts of it) largely due to how it was shipped. But I was able to straighten it out and install it on the pan very easily. I heard bad things about aftermarket gaskets, since the plastic/metal combo material is hard to replicate. This was definitely worth the extra $10 as it went on very smoothly and I trust it's quality going forward. It was difficult to find this part at first since amazon doesn't say if this fits my car or not, but I found this part number from rock auto and searched here to find a slight discount plus free shipping compared to rock auto.

Great gasket, well manufactured. I pay attention to quality & details. I used "Seal all" ( yellow tube, inexpensive) to adhere the "perfect fit" gasket to the AC Delco perfect match pan b4 mounting the assembly back onto the trans. A thin continuous bead on the pans lip, placed the gasket onto the pan with line up tabs protruding through the pan, flipped it over, applied pressure w two 20lb barbells and 10 minutes later; Presto!
