I have two of these - one for each of two ponds under 1,000 gallons.I have them out of the pond (you can have them in the water) and - depending on your preference/situation/system - you can either unhook them from the tubing, or just haul out the two really icky filter/sponges and wash them out on your plants - they will love all that putrid fish waste! Wash your hands afterward... maybe several times, ya kno?oh, the "bio-spheres" need to be rinsed - but not with chlorinated hose water 'cause it kills the good bacteria - so use some relatively clean pond water and swish it around - made easier if you un-hook it from the tubing.

I purchased this for a live bait tank I was building. I have a couple dozen blue gill which I have kept alive for over 3 weeks now and the water remains crystal clear. I assume it would also work well for small water feature or koi pond. Filter material is easy to clean making for easy maintenance.

This is exactly what I needed to filter my pond. It works really well. Just remember to connect the tubing out of the pond into the top nozzle not the bottom one so that the water trickles down through all the filters and the bottom back into the pond.

This is perfect for my outdoor aquaponics system. It was quick and easy to setup. Definitely going to add another in line to increase filtration capacity.
