These clever carbide cutter insert replacements are a part of the impressive Gerber multi-plier family, a series of one-handed opening multi-tools popularized in great part because of the easy-access one-hand opening feature. Specific models of the Gerber multi-tool series feature the Tungsten Carbide cutting insert. Once dull, the three-sided blade insert can be rotated 120 degrees, for a total of three rotations. The replacement inserts fit select models of the MP Basic, the MP Pro-Scout, and the MP Legend.

Selected models of the Gerber tool line feature an extremely rugged tungsten carbide cutting insert. This triangular insert is particularly good for cutting wire or fishhooks, or other similar materials. And because you'll be inclined to use the heck out of this cutter, we figured it'd smart of offer replacements. Carbide Cutter Insert Replacements come two to a pack, and include a hex head wrench and four replacement screws for Multi-Plier® tool itself. It might be a good idea of keep a replacement pack on hand. Because you just never know when you're encounter a whole lotta things that just beg to be clipped with the power of tungsten carbide. These inserts cut quick and clean and mean.

This review is with the product just received so can't say anything about durability of the items. Firstly I was not expecting the sheath that came with it (and is made in USA along with the bits). Very nice surprise and it's the only nylon sheath I would use with my tools. It's much softer than the Chinese made ones. The sheath has two compartments - back one is for the MP600 or MP400 (and I assume other tools in the MP line), and the front compartment are for the bits. Unfortunately the front compartment doesn't have room for the bit pack when using the MP600. However it's just fine when carrying an MP400. It would have been nice if it worked with both as I think it was intended. Still a good sheath for the MP600 without carrying the bit pack (which will fit fine in your pocket anyway). As was mentioned by another reviewer there is duplication with a few of the bits due the size of some of the Phillips and straight screwdriver bits already built into the MP series tools. I've got a bunch of these standard size bits though in all sorts of configurations so I'll choose a few of those to replace the ones that are duplicative (I like that word). I've seen questions on whether it fits Diesel and other models. The answer is no on the Diesel. It must be the squared Phillips as is on the MP models.

This set works perfectly fine with my Gerber Truss. The bit assortment is good for most applications. If you need particular bits you can use the rubber holder to store the nine 1/4 inch hex bits you use most. The key piece is the adapter which has a square end that fits on your multitool Phillips head tool (if you have the right multi tool.) The other end of the adapter accepts any 1/4 inch hex drive bit. The set comes with a handy nylon sheath which has a belt loop on the back and a flap to cover the compartments and close with hook and loop. The storage area is divided into two compartments. I keep the rubber bit storage in the rear compartment. That leaves plenty of room in the front compartment for my Gerber Dime. With my Dime, Truss and this bit set side by side on my belt I have a decent set of tools.

This bit set comes with both the bits and a nylon case. The nylon case holds both your Gerber multi tool and the bits. The nylon case is made in USA and the bits are made in China. The adapter socket that comes with the bit set fits over your Philips screwdriver attachment on the multi-tool. This is a nice addition to make your existing Gerber multi-tool even more useful. Would make a good gift for that multi-tool fan in your family, or for yourself if that is you.

Excellent product. I use these all the time since I've placed them into my EDC kit (the one that doesn't go on the plane).It's good to know that I always have a multitool and these attachments with me in case I need them. If you had to carry all of these attachments around as individual drivers, that'd be a lot of space.The one thing that could improve this product would be a tighter fit of the adapter onto the multitool. If that was uber-magnetic, or was a very tight fit, then you could use this more universally and not have to worry about the heads falling off. Also, if they were magnetic, you could find them easier by passing some other metal over them to have them spring back up again out of the dirt/grass/mud/whatever when they get lost.

It really multiplied the abilities of my gerber mp-600 multitool. The magnet kept bits and screws attached. The bit holder permits standard tool bits. Also, the kit included a very good selection of bits. E.g. the exact right no. 1 Phillips-head used on most larger consumer electronic items. Also, I found I could disassemble and repair most office cubicles (the hex heads were the exact needed sizes.) and many bathroom and lighting fixtures. However, I never used about 2/3 of the bits. Also, the multitool was much less comfortable than a screwdriver, so I started carrying and using different multitool (leatherman wave) and a separate bit-driver. I have a messenger bag, and it has more space than a pocket or a belt holster. In my EDC experience, in decreasing utility: toothpick, knife, scissors, file, pliers, bit driver, can and bottle opener. Never used: Saw, flat bladed screwdrivers, scalloped cordage knife, wire crimper, wire stripper, wire cutter.

I was in the service so I am partial to Gerber myself. I used that tool for EVERYTHING from demo to repairs. This add on and the easy strong magnet that goes on the bit holder makes this the best multitool I have used. Also, if you have your own bits for your needs such a specialty one like star or saftey stars etc you can pop out bits you don't need for ones you use all the time. And the pouch it comes with is for the Gerber and this bit add on. So all of it goes where you do. Love this product.

für alle Freunde die Gerber vor Leatherman bevorzugen ist das ein klasse Zubehör. Natürlich darf man nicht erwarten, dass man damit große Arbeiten verrichtet. Aber dafür ist es ja auch nicht gedacht, sondern um auf die Schnelle mal einen Schraubendreher zur Hand zu haben. Dafür ist das Toolkit auch gedacht und zu empfehlen.

Es mejor de lo que me esperaba por parte de la presentación, hay que utilizarlas con cuidado ya que no son muy resistentes. Las compré para una gerber centre drive y le quedaron de maravilla.

This bit set is great! It comes with an upgraded nylon pouch that has 2 pockets. 1 front pocket for these bits, a rear pocket for the tool. The bits are comprised of a 1/4" square magnetic coupler that slides on to the square phillips bit in tool, 3 different sized standard slot, phillips and hex bits held securely in a rubber holder which stubbornly slides into front pocket of pouch. The rubber is somewhat grippy. I lined the front pouch with the instructions which helps with un/sheathing. Everything works great otherwise! Nice upgrade!Cheers,Dave
