I purchased this because the original had gotten loose and melted. It is a great replacement, and easy to install.

GFCI replacement has been attached to my Conair Infiniti Pro Brush after the original cracked and no longer worked. It has been tested and seems to work fine. A little bulkier than the original but does the job.

I accidentally trod on the plug of one of my window air conditioners when I was putting it away for the winter months and this was pretty much an identical unit. Straightforward to wire in place of the broken one and it was back in business. Works as well as the original. Good quality build to it and decent value for money compared to having to replace a whole air conditioner. Recommended.

I needed to replace a damaged plug on the end of my pressure and thought I'd give this a try. There are no instruction but it is very easy to install if you have basic electrical knowledge. The hot, common, and ground terminals are clearly identified and all you need is a Philips screwdriver to attach them. It is waterproof and has an indicator light when powered on top along with the reset buttons. It is kind of large when installed on the end of the cord but I don't mind especially since it adds the security of having a GFCI with surge protection. Obviously the size is to incorporate these features.Be sure to look closely at the warnings and instructions on the housing for use. As I have seen in other reviews there is a question as to CSA approval (I see none mentioned) so would still be cautious on its use.For that reason I would only give it 4 stars. But for my use it seems to be working fine.

I like how easy it is to wire up to these ones. some plugs out there have extremely tough screws that i find end up stripping or cross threading somehow, and it is nice that this doesnt happen here.

I’ve seen a plug like this on an utensil – Instant Pot or something similar – and thought it might be useful to have on the equipment that is used in wet areas: you have GFCI protection even if you do not have a GFCI outlet close by.This plug is very simple to install – the access to the wires can be screwed in tight easily, you just need a Philips screwdriver to attach the clamp holding the cord and the cover of the compartment. If you look closely, you can see that the screws holding together the main body of the plug are tamper-resistant triangular ones.Another thing you can see if you look closely is warning not to use extension cord to connect this plug o a receptacle – I presume it is because such connection would not be safe itself if exposed to water.I’ve tried a plug using a simple GFCI tester – and it worked as expected. I’ve also tried it with a number of outlets, both regular and GFCI ones. The ground fault was always detected and the circuit broken – sometimes by the GFCI plug (mostly for indoor receptacles), sometimes by the GFC receptacle into which it was plugged in (generally outdoor). There was one receptacle where the GFCI protection didn’t kick in from either device – it turned out that the receptacle was not properly grounded.A simple way to improve safety – recommended.
