Just day 1 so reviewing initial thoughts.This was installed in a hearth and home fireplace. The fit was very tight to get the blower in. The stock option one is a little more narrow and wide. Connection is very well done it accommodates all the potential options you need. Mine pulled in with the terminal clips into a fire place and electrical distribution block. The magnetic heat sensor works well. Strong enough to hold, easy to place, comes on and off as expected when attached to the bottom of the firebox. High setting blows a lot of air more than the stock option. But it’s too loud to really use. Good airflow per decibels when turned down a little. This has a lot less rattle than the stock fan. Rubber feet on the bottom of it are a good add on. Maybe a little quieter for the same cfm. Only negative is the wire on the speed control is short. Means that you can not mount it in the center if your electrical block is on the side (typical for all the fireplaces I have seen). But I don’t expect this is something most of us ever change after it’s set for the first time. Good product so far, pushes a LOT more heat into the room, and a good price.

Installing was pretty easy. It is definitely louder than not having a fan, but you can adjust the speed (and noise) using the control knob. I wouldn’t say it is necessary to have, but it’s very convenient.
