Well the reason we use these is to not Mar the wheel.Somehow you can see the socket marks on my brand new semi wheels painted white and I used a Milwaukee rechargeable and didn't use my 1" anvil gun...so I didn't put much pressure against the wheel and still passed enuf friction heat thru to mar the wheel...needs to be thicker or different type of plastic....works great for aluminum wheels.Had a yellow one yrs ago was great ...from.local truck shop
