Protects my countertops pretty well when placing any hot pots or pans on them. I love to eat ramen straight from the pot so these mats are a great source of protection. The bamboo material seems well constructed and I like the fact that it comes with a stand to neatly store away when not in use. However, these pads are a little bit on the smaller side.
