These are weighted quite nicely and work well for holding patterns down to be cut out. There isn’t a lot more to say about them, they are pretty simple and straightforward. They work well, and as intended. I am satisfied. I did receive one that was chipped, but overall it did not affect the ability to use it as a weight against a pattern.

I was hopeful about these glass paperweights but found that not only did the glass arrive damaged (scratched, chipped and cracked) they’re also poorly finished. The weights are too light to hold down paper (particularly if it’s been rolled, such as a poster or artwork) and the rough and broken unpolished edges can easily scratch artwork and photos. In addition, the paperweights leave tiny shards of glass behind, which also easily embed and cut your fingers.

I ordered two packs of these weights (16 total) and despite being individually wrapped and packaged in bubble wrap, half of them were chipped. I don’t mind much because of what I will be using them for but someone more discerning might be upset about it. The manufacturer needs to improve packaging to prevent this.

I know these are intended for weighing patterns for sewing but I needed a solution for unrolled posters to flatten them and take pics of the posters. After searching for solutions - one even said to use smooth flat garden stones - I found these on a search and they are perfect. Small smooth and perfectly clear. Great for keeping the unrolled poster flat and can photograph right thru the glass. The box comes with 6, so for larger posters might be ideal to have another 6 especially if it’s a thicker paper needing to stay flat.

Be sure what type of weight you want before buying. These ones are not that heavy. They are more useful for very thin fabrics and you need a weight that slides easily. If you are working with strong and heavy fabric skip these weights. They are good but took out a star because one of them became knicked. The second because I think they should come more polished, you could cut yourself if not careful.

Okay, I have a confession to make: if there is any chance of piercing myself with pins, needles, pointy scissors, sharp staple corners, etc., I will. It’s a real problem; not just because ouch, but I risk bleeding all over my project. So I’m always on the lookout for ways to circumvent this. Pattern weights turned out to be a good start: layout is easy, no need to unpin and re-pin everything, always a chance of ouch when pins are involved, and I couldn’t be happier (unless I had more than 6 of them).Between these weights and the basting tape bought separately elsewhere, I’m starting to save my fingertips!

I think they would serve my purpose (print mounting), but they are lighter than I had expected. The only real problem is that they’re chipped, and I’m not willing to risk scratching a fine art print with them. I believe I’ll be returning them for this reason.

Arrive chipped. Very slippery. Slightest movement sends them sailing off the fabric. The edges are not smooth, they are not heavy enough. No way to store that they didn’t keep chipping every time I packed them away. And they break super easy. Not worth that amount of money. I didn’t even get to use these once before 5 were chipped just from them sliding into each other from slight movement of cutting out the fabric.

Half of them were chipped on arrival. Design was awful - edges were almost sharp even on ones that came whole; clearly not even tempered glass.Almost totally useless; potentially dangerous.
