Gave these to my grandson who is beginning to cook since he is in college but sharing a house with friends. They are red to match the casserole dish and lid I got him as well. They are nice but the neoprine (I think) on one side of the pot holders really smelled. I let them lie out for a few days before wrapping for his birthday and the smell lessened a bit however; I told him to wash them soon and the odor might go away...we hope. They are thick but not too thick and the fabric is cotton so they should wash well.

I was skeptical, but figured I could always return them. 😬 I love these. They work great, better than those more expensive in the store and got to me almost immediately. I’ve washed them and used them for a few months, so far so good! They’re thick enough and didn’t burn when I put my cast iron on it.

I needed to replace some old ones and wanted some that I would not feel the heat. These are the ones. I felt no heat taking a pan out of a 425 degree oven. I did notice they say handwash. I don't see a reason why so I might pop one in the washer when it needs cleaning and find out. It definitely isn't going in the dryer with the backing on it. I love how thick they are. They are a little stiff but that should relax with use.
