My tailgate was working, you could hear the actuator function however the tailgate on my 2018 Silverado would not lock.Apparently the original unit was under powered and would wear out quickly. My truck only has 24k miles on it so not a lot of use.They have beefed up the motor in this part from what I understand.5 minute install, tailgate now locks!!

It's well-known that the factory switch that Chevy installed on these trucks fail very rapidly. Well this replacement part also failed after only about 9 months of intermittent use.How effing hard is it to make a switch that lasts? Charge us more so you can use quality components! most of us don't really care about the cost, just make a part that lasts.

Fixed the issue where my tailgate wouldn’t unlock with the fob. Took 10-15 mins to install, and was very easy.
