My 180,000-mile clutch switch was failing and would only allow my truck to start if I held the clutch pedal within a narrow band of a millimeter or two, which made it tough to find the right spot. But this is the perfect replacement part. Inexpensive, OE quality, and it didn't even require any tools to change it out. The old one just pops loose from its retainer, unclip the wiring harness connector, attach the connector to the new one, snap it in place on the retainer, and voila. Works great.

GM quality, an easy swap in 2 minutes that put my car back on the road. I have a 2006 Saturn SUV and this part was flagged as "does not fit," but I knew the part number was the correct one and ordered it anyway. Perfect fit. Just including this note in case someone else has a Saturn!

Genuine GM part. Swapped it out with the old one and my car starts again. These have a small PCB inside that keeps rubbing against contacts and eventually fails. That's the way GM designed them. Maybe one day I'll start 3D printing these housings and put more expensive switches inside. But it's easier to just keep dropping these in every 10 years for now!

This should be routine maintenance, replace every 2 years to avoid problems if you do alot of city driving, it gets wear and tear with every push of the clutch. To replace, remove kickpanels, move your head to footwell, visualize old switch, unhook electric connector, slide old switch up and out. Assembly is the reverse of above.

97 Z28 - you can see it under dash, reach it, but to actually get it out and install replacement take out the few screws that hold cover under steering wheel. Made it much easier, still a reach to get up under the clutch pedal. This was RIGHT part. Remove blue plug on side by squeeze. Took out original with small allen wrench to push center button, masking tape it to your finger. once button depressed wiggle out old part. Line up new same as old and put on cable first, line up as original and slide into place. It went right on, thought I missed, but I heard click. Good luck. It is a tough reach but correct part for sure.
