I bought this part to replace a older plastic roller assembly. If the cable does not have a coating the metal contact with the roller gradually cuts through the roller. These rollers fit and I hope they last longer than plastic. Having the lift assembly on a drop gate is a back saver and a little maintenance is well worth it.
