  • More Options, More Possibilities - The ML-150 II offers 11 brightness levels for more precise lighting adjustments.
  • Made to Make Macro Photography Easy - The simplicity and functionality of the user interface makes lengthy instruction manuals unnecessary.
  • Highly Adaptable - With a wide variety of included adapter rings, the ML-150 II is compatible with lens diameters measuring 49, 52, 55, 58, 62, 67, 72, and 77mm. The controller unit features a single-contact hot shoe that is compatible with most cameras

An amazing macro ring flash suitable for both well-lit macrophotography and soft lighting for shadowless portraits. With a choice of 11 brightness levels it can provide precise lighting of your subjects. There are adaptor rings to accommodate a wide variety of camera lenses and a single-contact hot shoe compatible with many camera manufacturers. This flash has brought renewed use for my Canon SLR and an older Minolta that I used to carry with me everywhere but stowed in a closet for the past decade because a smart phone camera is so much easier to carry. It is vastly superior to the small, hot show flashes I used years ago. The problem with smart phone cameras is that they are inferior to the quality you can achieve with SLR cameras because smartphones lack the huge range of wonderful glass compound lenses used with SLRs and the LED flash on a smartphone is quite limited. While they are suitable for "snapshots" in a pinch, you can never achieve the control and imagery of a proper SLR camera and a professional quality flash instrument like this Godox ML150II. I have been thinking about getting my SLR cameras back into use after taking some photos at a family memorial of a cousin who had passed away. There were over 200 attendees, some of which I had not seen in decades and others I had never met before. Despite an effort to capture images, including getting images from several other attendees, most of them were far from the composition one could achieve with a proper SLR camera and flash. Only one attendee, the son of the deceased, had assembled and digitized many images taken by real cameras over the years for a looping slideshow on a large screen at the memorial. Those shots prompted me to think about my Canon SLR. They just looked so awesome versus the smartphone images everyone took. With this flash I can bring my SLR camera to event to capture batter images.

Despite Amazon AI Robot's statements to the contrary "The Godox ML150 II provides continuous lighting rather than flash bursts, allowing you to see the lighting effect in real-time through the viewfinder or live view" this is absolutely false. The unit does NOT provide a continuous lighting option. This is essential for macro photography. Also, the adapter rings exclude some standard sizes for smaller lenses, like 43mm. Also, there is a curious "warning" about overheating if you use the flash more than 50 times. This uses LED lights. I've not heard of LED lights "overheating..."

Once you locate the correct adapter ring, you snap into place, set timing, and you're back into the shutterbug business. It's simple, reliable, and a good value.

A proper diffusion filter is needed for better quality lighting and you can’t even do that with this
