The bridge/saddle has a great influence on the sound of a mandolin. I replaced a poorly made bridge made of very questionable wood on an inexpensive imported mandolin and significantly improved the sound. This bridge had a very good footprint and the ebony was of good quality. Once I fit it to the curvature of the instrument top, it performed very well.

The grain was identical to the Cumberland bridge I fitted to my 2017 Kentucky KM-650. This was purchased as a spare. Once fitted, I couldn't tell the difference in tone. I left it on. Maybe I just got lucky with this particular one. I would buy again. It's $40 cheaper than the Cumberland, which is the best, as we know. Before you replace your mando bridge, try to fit your existing one. Always custom fit a mando bridge.

This is very well made but it is quite tall. I did get it to fit my old A model but I had to sand it way down and even then I had to remove the thumb screws. That's fine with me but I would probably buy a different one if I got a new one. I must say though that it sounds really good, so if you need a high bridge this will definitely work.

If you're scratching your head over which cheap mandolin bridge to buy on Amazon or anywhere else, just get this one. I first ordered the $7 one from ROSENICE, and that was terrible. Way too big and thick, and poor quality. After leaving a bad review on that, I ordered this Golden Gate model and, while I have not yet put it on my Kentucky mandolin I can see that it will fit perfectly and is almost identical to the original. Also, the Golden Gate label is sold by Saga Musical Instruments and they sell all kinds of quality parts and accessories. So, bottom line is it's worth the extra money. Also, I checked other sites for this bridge and this is the best price on Amazon.

I returned this item as instructed from the local UPS shipping representative. I printed the return label page which included instruction to contact UPS if there might be difficulty in scheduling pick up at my home, so I took the item and the box in which it was shipped and had the return label scanned so it would be in the UPS system. The actual return label was printed to go on the outside of the box with the printing label instruction page placed inside the box. It is not much money and I was to order another that would fit the mandolin, but this getting 'lost' in the system gives me pause to reorder. Thank You , Monte McCraw, order number:No. 002-3918712-4278622.

It's a nice, sturdy but average bridge. The price is competitive and it performs just exactly like it's supposed to. If properly installed, I see no reason why it wouldn't work on a $150 instrument or a $5000 instrument.

The only reason I did not give it a five is that it was too tall for my mandolin even with the thumb screws all the way down. A little more information in the write-up as to overall bridge height would have been helpful. It turned out all right as I just sanded it down. It just took time and was a little difficult due to the bias of the arch top. Other than that, this is a nice bridge.

Good enough for inexpensive mandolins but be prepared for a certain amount of fitting
