Higher quality materials. Fits like OEM. Not sure what the continuous and peak RMS are in the original so this may not be able to take the full power from the amp but I never push the system anywhere near peak (Bass inob never more than 1/4 of the way turned up). Similar responsiveness at 90db as OEM speaker but with better definition.

These are great sounding speakers that are good in a variety of situations. I've used them for custom home projects and car audio as well. They can produce a good amount and surprisingly good quality of solid deep base, especially for their size, but learn what all the numbers mean and how to use them if you want everything they can offer. This is of course true for any successful speaker project. Parts express has a lot of information on how to use them to your best purpose.I'm using my latest pair in a car door application with very satisfying results and I'm a musician and quite picky.Nothing is free when it comes to speaker building. Decide your priorities and accept the trade offs that come with it and you'll be happy. If not. It's not that big of an investment. Rethink and try again.

I had to replace the woofers in my BOSE 401's. These don't just pop in. I had to alter (cut) the speaker opening to get them to fit. The cabinets are 30+ years old, so I didn't mind too much & I had the tools & know how to do it. Once they were installed, they sounded GREAT!

The connection points for the wires had different sizes to match polarity as advertised. The speaker was well protected in shipping and had stand offs to protect the face from contacting the inside of the box during transit. When I first installed the speaker it did not sound that great, however after approximately 5-10 hours of break in it now sounds quite good. Not quite as much punch as the OEM Klipsch subs it is replacing, but very close. For the price it was a good purchase, definitely better than scraping the whole system.

Bought these to replace woofers with deteriorated surrounds in my Boston Acoustic A40s. It was difficult to find replacements because the BA woofers are oversized 6.5. At 7 inches, these fit pretty well. As others have said, these woofers need a fairly long break in period. They did sound considerably better after the break in, but still aren't a good match for the BAs tweeter and crossover. The BAs speaker box is a bit smaller than recommended for these woofers, and the bass suffers, nothing significant below 100hz. That wasn't much of an issue as I matched them with a subwoofer, and on some music tracks they sound pretty good. But above a fairly low volume sweet spot, most music is way too harsh in the upper mid frequencies, almost unbearable. I've replaced a lot of woofers in a lot of speakers over the years with non OEM woofers and never had this poor of a result.

.. replaced door spkrs. in my van. (competition Bass) theses sound as good as the Vifa's did. 7" o.d., and 6.5 across screw hole to hole. perfect fit. Typical MCM (goldwood) quality. Been buying from them since mid 90's. Never dissapointed.

Paper is much better for a woofer these are ok but even pushing 40w the polycone does not give a great response I don't like these I've used this brand before but I'll never forget get the polycone ones again
