So much better than my old paper 4in speaker, sounds much clearer, overall huge improvement, had to modify the the enclosure slightly, this speaker was about 1/8 of an inch bigger than my old speaker but easily modified the hole and so worth it.

I am into DYI bookshelf stereo systems.I built a small mini subwoofer enclosure (5.5" x 5.5" x 12") with a 4" passive radiator and installed a $40 base driver that the manufacturer claimed would work as a mini subwoofer. Well, it did not - the driver at its breaking point at a 50% volume setting.I was about to junk the enclosure but decided to give it one last try after I found the GW-4028/S. I am delighted with the result! I get clean, low base and am able to push 70% volume (Fosi 5.1 100 watt amp) setting before noticing any strain on the speaker. This is a good product that beat a popular brand at half the cost.I will build a slightly bigger enclosure using two of these woofers connected in parallel and maybe an 8 to 12 inch passive radiator. I am very enthused at the potential.

I went through many hours of work reshaping the E38 sub box to fit these just to ignore how they're constructed. The surround is glued to the front of the frame under the foam gasket. This needs to be compressed against a mounting surface or otherwise evenly clamped. My 4 pan head screws weren't enough and the surround started to tear and separate. Please take care of this or you'll throw out $100 like I did.

I gutted out an ls21 subweefer and ran leads out back for this and now have a potent loudspeaker that packs a punch. Disclaimer this is not a subwoofer it is a midrange driver so don't expect crazy lowsUPDATE(2 days later) subwoofer was playing at rated wattage 30w rms 70w peak and it started smoking then went out and took my $200 receiver/ amp with it not happy

Cheaper drivers out there now that are suitable for the BFM SLA speaker, i used these in prior builds and wanted the same drivers to match the bad layer to some new ATMOS speakers.

I used this to replace a blown speaker in my discontinued Klipsch bookshelf speaker. I'm not an audiophile, so maybe someone would notice a difference, but beats the heck outta shelling out another $400 for a new set of speakers. Had to modify the housing a little, but no big deal I knew that would happen.
