Installation wasn't the easiest but well worth it. No more squealing belt.

I replaced the belt on my wife’s 2009 Altima with 2.5 liter 4 cylinder. It went on easily, fit perfectly, and seems to be high quality.

According to the Amazon app this belt was to fit my 2014 Jeep Wrangler JK 3.6L. It was tight, but after a bit of struggle it went on. I ran it idling for. While. About 30min. Went to take it for a ride and half way to my destination the belt literally fell apart. New pulley new tensioner was also installed. According to the mechanic the belt was too tight causing too much friction melting the pully and the belt. I noted that the belt was about an inch smaller than the old one but attributed to the 150k miles I had on it. However, I was told they don’t stretch that much.

Amazon and Goodyear’s site said it would fit my Altima. It’s technically the same size for OEM, 87.8†fitment for the 2011 Altima, but tolerances in belt production may or may not make your life awful.Trust me, I tried everything to put it on. A 30 minute job turned to 4 hours because I thought I was doing something wrong. Goodyear makes good products but the tolerance on this was too tight.I had to order one for same day delivery from a local auto parts store. Same 87.8†fitment on theirs, but I was able to slip the new one on in 30 seconds. If you are planning on doing this on the Altima, I recommend you buy two different belts to save yourself the grief. Keep whichever one goes on first, and return the other.Notice in my photo both are 878 product numbers, meaning they’re the same size. But the Goodyear was way too tight. 3 stars because honestly it’s nicer than the one I installed, but the tolerance was too tight.

Remove the intake tube (two bolts and the sensor wire) for access. With the 2012+ Pentastar 3.6 the belt tensioner has a little shock that compresses so take it easy when you put a wrench on it - easier if you use a pipe on the end of the wrench and gently pull down. To remove old belt and put new one on its easier to remove alternator - 4-5 bolts if I remember - then lift it up and out of the way (no need to disconnect anything from the alternator) for easy access. Check to make sure all the grooves line up before slipping it back onto the smooth idler wheel and releasing the tensioner.
