This Mini is truly mini.. works great and the telescoping feature works by just extending it. You can get a similar non branded model for 50% of the cost and it'll work just as well, but if you care about aesthetics, I will admit this one has a better feel and the handling and mini factor comes in handy.

Here's a quick side-by-side comparison of the GoPro Shorty and Insta360 Mini tripods. Let's dive right in!Pros ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘- Shorty is tiny! If you're looking for the most compact tripod/extension pole combo, this is it! It's under 5 inches long and weighs just over 2 ounces! I've smoked cigars bigger than this thing! - Secure screw connection. - Lifetime Warranty: That's what it says, but I'm just not sure how easy it is to file a claim with GoPro. Cons 👎👎👎- It may be too short for most! Fully extended, it's under 9 inches. It barely clears the lid of my 13-inch MacBook! See photos. I know it says shorty in the name, but it's hardly usable as an extension pole. - The build is OK, but that's the most I'm willing to say about it! It works, but it feels cheap and chintzy!- Tripod feet are not rubberized, making it easy to slide over smooth surfaces like most tables!- Price-to-value ratio: On discount for $20, it's hardly a good buy, but it's there for those who need it!Food for Thought 🤔► If you're looking for the most compact tripod and extension pole, the GoPro Shorty is it. In a vacuum, it's a clear winner. But when viewed side by side with the Insta360 Mini, it changes your perspective, and you start seeing the shorty's shortcomings!â–º The Insta360 Mini is quantifiably a better buy. It's about the same price and same diameter, but it's an inch taller, and when extended, it's twice as tall! It's engineering magic! Not only that, the textured feet make it more grippy and a joy to hold! The feet are also rubberized, making it stay firm in its place like any good tripod should. Further, it comes with a 1/4" 20-thread adapter in the box (often sold separately for $5-$10), making it a far better value out of the box. The Bottom Line ðŸ§The Shorty delivers what it promises and comes from a reputable brand. I just think GoPro did the absolute minimum. You're paying for a "GoPro" sticker printed on it. This is a quality tripod for your GoPro antics and filming. I bought this tripod for quick deployments and filming.Pro: The plastic is lightweight but feels sturdy in the hand.Con: The tripod uses a flathead screw versus the normal hand screw. I ended up taking the hand screw from my float handle for quicker changes.10/10 recommend this GoPro tripod for your GoPro.

I purchased this tripod because I wanted something small and compact. It can easily fit in my pocket with the go pro attached. Works great and it has an extender.

It's not very long, but the little tripod stands pretty well. It's easy to set up and use through a remote for wide shot selfies
