2 different styles reading the same. Seems good enough for me. Seems well built. Easy to use, easy to understand. Not the fastest but not slow. I recommend this for public use.

I was sent this in a torn white box that was missing all the paperwork and the back cover to the battery.

OK, I admit it, there is a little streak of "prepper" in me... And this is a perfect addition to our "prepper" tools. Given the uncertainty of today's crazy world with any number of regimes prepared to "defend their sacred honor" with nukes, and the ever present possibility of nuclear accidents, it just seems to make sense to have a device like this on-hand. We are still exploring all the facets of this device, but for basic use it turns on and begins providing usable information right away. It comes with a well-written quick start manual and links to comprehensive online manuals. I hope I never have to say that I'm grateful to have it (like I never want to have to say "thank goodness we had that fire extinguisher!) but I'm glad to know it is available to me. It seems well built, and the rubberized casing provides some good protection from knocks and bumps.

This device has a large display that is easy to read. It charges through USB type C cable and comes with a cable. I like that it has the (more or less) standard charging end. I've always wanted a Geiger Counter and this was an inexpensive way to have one. I have it running now in my office and it seems to bounce between 8 - 13 cpm. Well under the 50cpm that is at the top of the normal background range. Pressing the up and down buttons change the display mode and so it is easy to change to milliRoentgen/Hour (or milliRems) and microSievert/hour. CPM, mR/h and uSv/h. One source says that CPM “is the number of atoms in a given quantity of radioactive material that are detected to have decayed in one minute.†So now you can watch those atoms decay.

As far as preparedness items go, this might be one of the biggest. This can be used in mostly normal situations, just to check if levels are abnormal for some reason, and it can obviously be used in a scenario where a disaster has occurred and you want to make sure you're avoiding trouble areas. The device is very small and light, will easily fit into any bag or drawer, wherever you keep the things you might need in an emergency. It also comes with a card showing different levels and what they mean. I ran it for a few minutes, checking different parts of my room, and I'm well in the safe range here, so that's good to know. It's USB-C rechargeable and comes with a cable for such, so that's always a plus. I'd say all things considered, this is a great item to have in your collection.
