This was a replacement for one that was 20+ years old and had failed. I moved the connections from the old unit to this one and was back up and running in no time! It filters the air and provides a water drain just in case. It works like a charm!

I ordered this as a replacement to existing piece, same product, just 20 years older. When it came, the pressure gauge glass was broken, I just took the pressure gauge off my old part. Once everything was reconnected, this product leaked in almost every connection. I was able to fix about half of them. The others I can't get to seal. Disappointing since the original worked perfectly for 20 years. Since I turn off my compressor when I leave my shop, the compressor will have to start up when I come back because it has lost it's air due to the leaks. I read the reviews before purchasing, others found the same problem. I will live with the issues, since I don't use the compressor that much.

it seems to work all right , I have another one, a earlier version of the same thing that I have been using for over 25yrs with no issues ,but I see that Sharpe has sold out and stated making the new ones in China and I noticed that the coating on the main body of the unit is not the same quality .I did not take the new apart to see how the inside parts compare , I don't know what other choice there might be anyway and I don't paint that many cars anymore so for the home hobby shop I think it will do the job . I like to see made in USA on my tools , I am old .

It does work ,but is a must elevate an air hose 3/8 as high possible then use this item overhead high of compressor to trap water/oil so water stays down by gravity

I would have given this 5 stars if the quality would have been as good as the tech support. Every connection on this unit leaked like a sieve. Poor quality control considering the child labor that built it. I decided to figure out what the problems were and not send it back. I have the same unit that I purchased in 1994 (American made). I have replaced the diaphragm once in this unit and have not experienced any problems. After isolating this unit I found that the pet cock, air valve, regulator all leaked. The inlet was so poorly machined that neither metric nor standard thread could eliminated leakage at that point. I realize I could have returned this unit for another but have no doubt I would have dealt with the same results. Now I have a a unit that works like it should. Be nice if these reviews would allow for a minus 5. That's what this unit would get.
