Obviously it’s great to use bigger ones for big pours but delicate or thin pours use smaller crucibles!

The items work well the only issue I have is thelife span they have to be replaced after 8 uses for safety.

Identical to the 3KG crucible that comes with the TOAUTO electric furnace. Crucible arrived today. Packaged in a layer of foam sheet, and a layer of bubble wrap, and then in a corrugated cardboard box, and then amazon placed it just in a padded paper package envelope. Arrived with no cracks or pinholes. Shiny and smooth, almost looks metallic. I conditioned it at 260C for 2 hours to bake out any moisture, and let it cool. Tonight I used it to melt copper pipe pieces and pour into a mold. Of course, the new shiny appearance will fade as all graphite crucibles break down little by little and turn sooty black each time they are used.

Put the 2kg and 3kg models through their paces with Copper and Silver on an electric melting furnace, they retained heat well and no cracking / flaking thus far. Like any crucible, highly recommend seasoning it first, I do so by slowly raising the heat on it with it empty until I reach max usage temp and let it bake 30 minutes. Will be buying more.

Good product within the specifications listed in the photographics, not too much thermal expansion so even with a 1 mm tolerance it performs well. Be sure to check the inner chamber of compatible furnaces , mine has a temperature probe that slightly interferes as i bought the 3kg crucible, however it can still be adjusted and works as intended so this is no shortcoming of the crucible

Saw another review for this product saying it was perfect for melting cans but that isn't true. Only reason I bought it. Ima have to recrush every can so it will fit in.
