I recently acquired this GRBL controller specifically for my custom laser engraving project. Unlike the 3018 CNC, which I don't have, my aim was to create a dedicated laser machine with its control board. I currently use a Genmitsu 4040 Pro, but the constant need to switch between the spindle and laser for various tasks has been inconvenient. This control board impresses me, especially with its included enclosure. In terms of pricing, it's quite reasonable, especially when compared to similar rep-rap options that don't offer such a well-designed enclosure. In summary, I believe this controller is an excellent choice for both a replacement part for the 3018 as well as custom laser builds.
