About this item

  • 【High Torque & Lower Noise】: Long carbon brush high life, high precision gear design, small size, high torque, low noise, high efficiency.
  • 【Positive-Negative Rotation】: This type is miniature High Torque Electric Worm Gear DC Motor, which can change shaft rotation direction while the wiring positive andnegative be changed.
  • 【Self-Locking】: Turbo worm geared motor with self-lock, that is, in the case of motor without electric, the output axis is fixed, self-lock.
  • 【Versatile】: The reducer output shaft arranged vertically with the motor shaft, whole motor output is relatively short,can be widely used in various of occasions that require special installation size.
  • 【Application】: Boat, Car, Fan, Home Appliance, BBQ, Machinery and equipment, automation instruments, electric curtain, stage lighting, counter, faucet, safe, wet towel dispenser, vending machines, automatic monitoring and other modern art.

What does motor torque mean?
The standard torque of the motor is 10kg.cm. If the belt wheel is used for transmission, the belt wheel has a radius of 1cm, and the output tension of the belt is 10kg.
If the belt radius is 2cm, the output tension of the belt is 5kg, and so on.
PLEASE NOTE:
1.Use tolerance: Pay attention to the use of voltage and current range, otherwise the motor performance and motor life will decline.
2.Handling motors: Gently, as far as possible the use of motor shell part.
3.Motor wiring: Red lead to the positive electrode, black lead to the negative pole, if reversed, the motor rotation in the opposite direction.
4.Overload: As far as possible within the specified load range, prohibit motor blocking or close to the stall state for too long time to runs. Otherwise, the motor will burn out.
5.Motor storage:
-- Storage temperature: 0℃ - 40℃;
-- Storage humidity: 15% -90% RH;
-- Avoid placing in high temperature, high humidity and corrosive gases.
6.Motor use temperature: 0℃ - 70℃

I use the gear motor to rotate a solar drum composter. The gear motor has been working for over a year and has a runtime of two hours daily. The needed torque in this application is close to the manufacturer's highest recommended torque. I greased the gearbox with plenty of Timken wheel-bearing grease.

+ Seemed somewhat robust- Doesn't run well at low speeds under PWM control.- Whistles under PWM control using Arduino Uno OC2A/OC2B outputs to drive L298 H-bridge.- Vibrates a lot at full speed, even when run with DC. Unmounted (held in hand) this isn't an issue. When attached to something that functions as a sounding board it seems quite loud.Maybe I can cobble together a sound/vibration dampening mounting system.EDIT 5/19/22: I finally figured out how to use Arduino PWM properly. In phase-correct PWM mode the motor was controllable using a 33khz cycle frequency and a L298 H-bridge. The motor/gearing noise remains at high speeds (if 5rpm can be considered high speed), but all traces of PWM squealing are gone, and speed can be lowered to the point where it's almost imperceptible. So I raised my rating a star. I would have gone to 5 stars but there's a tiny amount of backlash/slop in the output shafts and it's noisier than I would have liked.

It is the same worm drive motor in the Rite Hight system for your active target or live scope

After only a few uses it developed slop ! I bought unit to pin point exact direction of a pointer on my transducer and the slop defeats that purpose.
