Greenlee round standard metal punch units are complete units consisting of punch, die and draw stud. They can punch quick clean holes through metal up to 10 gauge (check specs for specific punches). They can be used with battery-powered, hydraulic, ratchet or manual drivers. Properly assembled through pilot holes, they will make clean, fast and accurate holes. After cutting the slug falls free in the die, and a quick tip drops it out.

Don't settle for knockoffs. GO with genuine Greenlee! I punched 2 holes in my aluminum brew kettles within 10 min. The holes were perfect! My grandpa always said that having the RIGHT tool for the job makes all the difference in the world. This is one of those instances where nothing else will do the job correctly. You want to punch a perfect hole in steel (in my case 3/16in aluminum) quickly and neatly? Spend some money and get a Greenlee punch. They're expensive I know....but they do such a great job.

Made great holes in my 20 gallon Mega Pot kettles but still required a Dremel paddle sander to smooth out the hole completely.

Awesome cutting ability in stainless steel. use the right size pilot hole to avoid ruining the threads. A simple tool that works perfectly.

So far, I've used it to punch two 1.25" holes in steel, including a stainless steel brew kettle in which the pilot hole was about 7/8". Both holes were perfect. You will need a large wrench to turn the bolt, but it was quick and easy to punch the holes. As another reviewer noted, this is exactly what you need for adding a heating element to your homebrew pot. Because of the price, I hesitated about buying this tool, but it was worth it.
